Iniciaremos nossa experiência de aprendizado e descoberta no icônico Farol da Barra, localizado no Forte de Santo Antônio, onde passearemos pelo local tirando ótimas fotos e curtindo a brisa. Esta é a entrada da Baía de Todos os Santos.
Foi aqui que o português Thomé de Souza fundou Salvador! A praia mais democrática da cidade, de águas mornas e calmas, onde se encontra todo tipo de público. Recomendo vivamente passar uma manhã ou voltar durante o pôr-do-sol.

Local icônico com construções interessantes
A Catedral é considerada uma das igrejas mais importantes do Brasil e foi o 4º templo construído pelos jesuítas em Salvador no século XVII e possui um magnífico acervo de Arte Sacra.
Aqui estamos no alto do morro, onde foi construída a primeira Capital do Brasil. Nesta praça temos o famoso Elevador Lacerda do século XIX que liga a Cidade Baixa à Cidade Alta. Palácio Rio Branco que foi sede do primeiro Governador do Brasil, Thomé de Souza, da Prefeitura e da Casa de Câmara onde ainda funciona a administração municipal. Começaremos a explorar o Centro Histórico Pelourinho a pé, visitando a Catedral e o Convento e Igreja São Francisco de Assis. Temos tempo para comida de rua ou restaurante. Esta é a chance de interagir com a população local mergulhando em nossa vida cotidiana.
Construída no início do século XVIII, a Igreja e Convento de São Francisco é uma das Sete Maravilhas de Origem Portuguesa no Mundo. Belos azulejos e madeira de jacarandá, muito ouro e pinturas de artistas locais fazem parte deste complexo excepcional.
A famosa Praça onde hoje funciona a Fundação Casa Jorge Amado, um dos meus escritores favoritos e também onde Michael Jackson cantou com o Olodum a música “Eles não se importam muito com a gente”

Highly recommend this private tour with Gabriela. She showed us the favorite haunts of locals and even took us to the best ice cream shop. She was very knowledgeable about the local history as we walked Pelirunho area. She was especially attentive to our needs as one of our party was unwell.

Gabriela is a great ambassador for Salvador de Bahia. I learned about the fascinating history of Salvador and the festivals. My 15 year old and I spent a wonderful day together with Gabi. Gabi showed us many interesting parts of Salvador and taught us about the history and culture. She made it interesting for a teenager too! There was some walking but a lot was by car. I highly recommend Gabi for a tour in Salvador!

Excellent knowledgeable guide, Gabriela, leading a very informative tour of the city. Very observant of our interests & needs, catering to them accordingly. Great lunch stop, Cuco....local cuisine. City sights by car & walking.. just a shame the public buildings were covered in boarding due to carnival! Recommended

Gabriela met us near the cruise ship at about 8:15am and from there, we had a lovely 6 hour tour of the city, with a lunch stop, (our expense) in the touristy, (but a must see), area of upper old town. Gabriela’s English is excellent and her knowledge of the city is superb. Although there are countless churches in Salvador, we limited our visits to the Bonfim Basilica. Had we seen more, the tour would have extended another hour. Book this tour without concern. It’s massively better value than any cruise ship excursion.

We loved touring Sqlvador with Gabriella. We booked an all day tour that started at 10 am from our hotel. She took us around the city’s most significant neighborhood by car and on foot. She knows the local history real well and she clearly loves telling others about it. Gabriella who is originally from Argentina also speaks very good English which we found was rare in the north east. We highly recommend her!
