The excursion was good until the end. We had Jorge and he hassled my whole family about his tip. We gave him a $60 tip and he was very upset about it. He made us feel very uncomfortable so we will not be doing this again

We take matters of this nature very seriously and investigated the situation directly with Jorge. He recalls that your family kindly asked whether the tip amount was acceptable, and in attempting to express his genuine gratitude he shared that anything you wished to leave was greatly appreciated. We understand however that the words chosen in that moment may not have conveyed that sentiment as warmly or clearly as intended, and for that we sincerely apologize. We want to be absolutely clear — tipping is always entirely at the discretion of our Guests and no member of our Team should ever make anyone feel uncomfortable or obligated in any way. This falls short of the standard we hold ourselves to and has been addressed directly with Jorge. It is worth noting that Jorge consistently receives wonderful feedback from our Guests and this is the very first concern of this nature we have ever received regarding him, which speaks to the kind of Tour Guide he truly is. We are confident this was an unfortunate miscommunication rather than a reflection of his character. The morning started off a little stressful because the directions were not clear as to where to meet. He was waiting at port and we went to Martis per email. Gabriel was great showing us around. The ecotour was fun. Saw lots of iguanas and a couple of crocodiles. The hike up the lighthouse was my workout for the day. Next up some yummy tortillas, chocolate and tequila. It was great but we were not interested in spending $80-300 for tequila. Thankfully I had lots of small bills for tipping each tasting spot. Last stop for lunch and drinks . I enjoyed snorkeling at Cocoa Beach. It was our third time to Cozumel and I’m glad we ventured from the beach clubs.

We understand that with so much excitement ahead it is easy to head to a familiar spot instead of checking the directions, and we encourage all Guests to review the port-specific pickup point carefully before disembarking to ensure a smooth and stress-free start to the day.
