Porto: Cockburn's Port Lodge Tour & Main Room Wine Tasting

Really enjoyed this experience and now appreciate a glass of port even more! We did the premium tasting experience (the one with the chocolates) and highly recommend.
Great tour, learned a lot, but tried too many samples!!
There are so many options for cellar tours in Gaia, it's quite hard to choose one! We went for Cockburn's for a few reasons - I wasn't drinking and I could opt for a tour without the tasting flight, the tours all had good reviews and the price was around what we wanted to pay. I can't remember our guide's name but she was knowledgeable and friendly. We found the section on how they repair the barrels particularly interesting! (My partner is a woodworker.) Despite not drinking, I still found the tour informative and engaging. Probably due to the fact the tasting session is right at the end so I didn't feel like I had less of an experience or I was missing out.

Lots of options for port tours in Porto. Chose this as it included a chocolate pairing. But confusing when booking as options are not obvious, but basically you all get same tour but tasting at the end is different depending what you book. The house itself was very interesting, especially as we had already dine a port tour in Douro valley area, thought we had seen it all, but honestly it was excellent, with an interesting guide, lots to see and of course a nice we tasting to end it all! Would recommend! Go for the premium with chocolate or better have the cheese board too!
Dear Mark, Many thanks for your input. It’s a pleasure to know that you enjoyed your experience at Cockburn’s, where we maintain the time-honoured art of maturing Port in oak barrels and vats. Best regards, The Cockburn’s team
Pedro provided a very informative and interesting tour. We also enjoyed a tasting afterwards accompanied by cheese and charcuterie which was worth the expense. Lastly we got to sit on their terrace and enjoy port and ginger cocktails as recommended by Pedro, a new discovery that we will remember

A very nice experience, also thanks to the girl (unfortunately I do not remember her name) who guided us in Italian during the visit to the winery and through an excellent tasting journey.

What an experience we had on the 10th June! This was absolutely worth it and would highly recommend it. We had an excellent host, Katerina (I hope I have the spelling correct!). She was clearly so well-informed and told us all we needed to know at every stage responding to every question asked with knowledge, wit and humour. Then, of course the funnest part, the tasting at the end. We did the Tawny flight and it was really special. We are definitely going back to Porto some time and we would definitely do this tour again...with the largest cellars in Vila Nova de Gaia and a working cooperage, it's a special place. Thanks too to Katerina who, when asked where we could go from there for more port over lunch, directed us to The Wine Box on Rua Dos Mercadores. We had some lovely white port and an amazing tasting board for lunch. Special thanks to Katerina for it all!

Absolutely magnificent visit! Our guide André was passionate and very well-informed about the history of the Cockburn’s house. The wine cellar is huge and very impressive. It all ends with an extraordinary tasting. An unforgettable experience; I highly recommend it!
Cher visitant, On remercie votre retour si positif. Ça sera un plaisir de vous recevoir á nouveaux chez Cockburn's. Nos meilleures salutations, L´Équipe de Cockburn's
A stunning property with great heritage. Our guide had a great depth of knowledge; we left understanding a lot more about Port. The tastings were delicious, and our guide spent a lot of time individually walking through the products with each table. When we got into discussion of tasting nuances, he ran upstairs to get get special bottles not on the menu for us to experience. A great afternoon.
The tour was very interesting. The guide was also quite knowledgeable. And engaging. We were able to taste three different types of port. We really enjoyed it and bought one bottle.
