I booked with Askos Tours and the guide Mario was the best. He was very knowledgeable and had a great sense of humor. Thank you for the great experience when exploring Mt. Vesuvius and Pompeii for the first time.

We were delighted with our guide Mario who was professional, cultured, witty and attentive to everyone in the group. Driver Sergio drove safely and carefully. Expert guidance in Pompeii by archaeologists gave us a phenomenal experience of the site.

What an incredible day and experience. From the start - Mario was welcoming. He is fantastic at what he does and he very passionate about it. He and Luigi (our driver) were great and made the start of our day/tour get off on the right foot. Mario was very funny and very knowledgeable. Luigi bless him was a man of few words but those fresh berries he gave us that he picked whilst we climbed Vesuvius were very welcome. Although we was sad to wave goodbye to Mario when we reached Pompeii as he went to start another Vesuvius climb, Antonio took over and was equally as great. He was extremely knowledgeable about Pompeii and gave us a real insight to life in Pompeii. He knew where to go and where all the right places to take us. We even asked him to see certain places and he made the tour all about us as a group. All in all - fantastic day. Lots and steps but absolutely worth it. Thank you Mario, Luigi and Antonio. It wouldn’t be the same day with you guys.

Wow! If you’re visiting Naples this is a must-do experience. The pick up was incredibly easy and the staff were outstanding! Vesuvius: Mario (our fabulous tour-guide) and Luigi (our expert driver) did an amazing job of getting us to and from Vesuvius safely. Mario’s knowledge of the site was incredible and he answered all our questions with ease. We feel so privileged to be able to say we climbed Vesuvius! Pompeii: Once again, Luigi showed us his expert driving skills and got us to and from Pompeii with no problems. Our Pompeii tour guide, Antonio, was incredible! Having grown up on and around the site, Antonio was able to show us many of the highlights (within the time frame) whilst also catering to everyone’s individual interests. I cannot thank Antonio enough for showing us around Pompeii. I have dreamt of visiting this site since I was a little girl and he truly made the experience so special. Overall, this was an incredible day out that was well worth the money! Thank you so much, Mario, Luigi and Antonio.

As a solo traveller this was a great package as it included transportation and amazing tours of both Mount Vesuvius and Pompeii. It was a nice size group and we got a break between both activities to get some lunch. Mario was amazing, he knew lots about Vesuvius and was super friendly. He was with us the entire time, from pick up to drop off. Teresa was also amazing, her knowledge of Pompeii was amazing and super cool to hear about. She was so lovely and kind. Both guides had amazing personalities. 100% recommend if solo travelling or in a group.

Mario our guide was excellent, funny and helpful whilst considerate to all the members of the party. The climb up Vesuvius was short but still challenging due to the sun. Mario was bang on with his suggestions for timings. We then went on to lunch in a shopping mall which worked well especially for the kids with some familiar international fast food joints. The tour round Pompei was excellently planned by our guide Antonio and geared toward our requests. The guides on this tour were excellent all round. We felt like we got lots done in our day and was well worth doing as an organised trip like this.

Two exceptional guides - Mario in the morning on Vesuvius: loads of fascinating details on volcanoes and history. Miguel in the afternoon at Pompeii: brilliant descriptions and explanations of so many aspects of Roman life. Great pace and lots of photo opportunities. A fantastic day. Thank you.

Mount Vesuvius was more than an excellent experience thanks to our guide Mario. Our tour in Pompei was amazing and our guide very knowledgeable and engaging!

What a fascinating and enlightening tour. The tour guides for the day, Mario and Diego, were both full of warmth, character, humour and knowledge. Diego, finding us shade and breeze wherever he could - which was desperately needed, and much appreciated - told us loads about Pompeii and its past. Mario also clearly loves what he is talking about. We loved hearing all about Vesuvius, and the beautiful landscape. Both were approachable, friendly and inclusive. Thank you for a wonderful, magical day of culture and history.

I was a bit sceptical of an organised tour (my 14 and 11 year old even more so) but I wanted to use our time efficiently and see Vesuvius and Pompeii in a day without too much stress. We booked the small group tour as I wanted something a bit more personal. From the start everything was run smoothly by the specialist tour company, which made it very easy and relaxed. Our guide Mario was knowledgeable, lovely and organised things perfectly - from his information on Vesuvius during the journey, to moving us effortlessly between stops, to a delicious recommendation for lunch. Although it was a very hot day, he made it feel easy and that’s what I hoped for. Our entrance to both sights was straight forward. The Vesuvius walk has an audio guide to download that helped take our mind off walking up the volcano in the heat. It was a much easier walk than I expected and a lovely breeze when at the top but very sweaty. A pair of good trainers and a degree of fitness helps! It was worth it though as the view is spectacular and such an unbelievable sight up close. Our archaeologist in Pompeii was wonderful, moving us through with wonderful stories and knowledge. My sceptical children were completely entranced. We were shown the highlights and navigated around perfectly in 2 hours with photo stops and via water refill fountains. The tour company seemed well established, were always visible and seemed to know the staff at each location to ensure we were treated well. The minibus was air conditioned and driven well by Lorenzo . Thank you. We had the most wonderful day and I would 100% recommend this tour to those visiting. A memory that will last a lifetime!
