Pompeia é inegavelmente o sítio arqueológico mais importante do mundo. Uma cidade inteira perfeitamente preservada, exatamente como era em 79 d.C., quando uma tremenda erupção do vulcão vizinho, o Monte Vesúvio, a enterrou sob uma camada profunda de cinzas e lapilli. Pompeia é muito diferente de qualquer outro sítio arqueológico do mundo. Existem ruínas antigas em Roma, Grécia, Egito, América Central e outros lugares maravilhosos do planeta, mas em nenhum deles, exceto em Pompéia, você ainda pode andar pelas antigas ruas originais e encontrá-las tão animadas quanto naquela época. Você pode andar nas mesmas casas em que as pessoas moravam, nos mesmos templos em que rezavam e estar nos mesmos lugares em que trabalhavam e se divertiam. Você ainda pode ver os rastros de suas carruagens deixados na superfície da estrada; os canos em que a água potável corria; e por último, mas não menos importante, os corpos “petrificados” das vítimas da erupção.

Visitaremos os edifícios públicos mais importantes (teatros, templos, banhos termais e muito mais) e chamaremos sua atenção para algumas das lojas romanas mais tradicionais como a thermopolia - ancestral dos modernos restaurantes de fast food - e o pistrinum - o equivalente romano de uma padaria. A cidade de Pompeia também é bastante conhecida pela magnificência de suas residências, cujos nomes são conhecidos em todo o mundo: a Casa de Menandro, a Casa do Fauno, a Casa dos Vettii, a Casa de Caecilius Iucundus e muitas outras mais. Estaremos em algumas dessas fantásticas moradias e também caminharemos pela “Via dell'Abbondanza” (a rua principal), o Fórum (a praça principal da cidade) e o famoso “bairro da luz vermelha” e suas sugestivas pinturas murais. Por fim, um foco especial será colocado nas pobres vítimas da erupção, aparecendo como corpos petrificados.

We had a great experience in Pompeii with Francesco! He was fantastic and brought the city to life for us! We had been once before, but a smaller private group was far nicer than a large group! I wasn’t sure what to expect on this tour but we were surprised by how much we enjoyed it. The guide Antonella was so knowledgeable and helpful! The private tour was worth every penny! The other tours were great I’m sure but having your own guide to talk to made it an experience we will never forget. She delivered such personal service to us that she made us feel like royalty!

We had a wonderful tour with our kids (ages 10 and 12) with Marzia! She was an extremely nice person and brought us to the most beautiful places and explained so much that it made Pompeii come to life! I have been to Pompeii years ago, but without a gut and there is no comparison how much more I enjoyed this experience. Highly recommend.

My boys (ages 12 and 16) took this tour towards the end of our trip, and my kids were not excited about another tour. It turned out to be their favorite tour of our trip because Francesco was so great! He was very knowledgeable and kept my kids engaged by sharing things that would be interesting or even scandalous with them . Pompei is a must-see and Francesco is among the BEST tour guides (and we’ve had a lot!). If you are debating whether to include Pompeii, it is really a must see! Ask for Francesco!
