Phnom Penh, a movimentada capital do Camboja, fica na junção dos rios Mekong e Tonlé Sap. Foi um centro tanto para o Império Khmer quanto para os colonialistas franceses. O Palácio Real é um dos marcos mais emblemáticos de Phnom Penh. A construção começou em 1886 depois que o rei Norodom transferiu a capital real para Phnom Penh e foi concluída antes da Primeira Guerra Mundial. Até hoje, o palácio é a residência principal de O Rei do Camboja.
O belo Silver Pagoda está localizado ao lado do Palácio Real em Phnom Penh. Com seu lindo jardim, é um refúgio perfeito das ruas movimentadas da capital do Camboja. O interior do pagode é igualmente impressionante, pois incontáveis ladrilhos de prata feitos à mão cobrem o chão. O pagode também é conhecido como o Templo do Buda de Esmeralda porque a estátua primária do Buda é feita de esmeralda ou cristal de bacará.
O Museu do Genocídio Tuol Sleng é um museu em Phnom Penh, capital do Camboja, descrevendo o genocídio do Camboja. O site é uma antiga escola secundária que foi usada como Prisão de Segurança 21 (S-21) pelo regime Khmer Vermelho desde a sua ascensão ao poder em 1975 até sua queda em 1979. De 1976 a 1979, cerca de 20.000 pessoas foram presas em Tuol Sleng (o número real é desconhecido). Tuol Sleng significa "Monte das Árvores Venenosas" ou "Monte Strychnine". Tuol Sleng era apenas um dos pelo menos 150 centros de tortura e execução estabelecidos pelo Khmer Vermelho, apesar de outras fontes colocarem o número em 196 centros prisionais. Em 26 de julho de 2010, as Câmaras Extraordinárias dos Tribunais do Camboja condenaram o chefe da prisão de Tuol Sleng, Kang Kek Iew, (também conhecido por Duch) por crimes contra a humanidade e violações graves das Convenções de Genebra de 1949 e o sentenciaram à prisão perpétua.
Choeung Ek é o local de um antigo pomar e vala comum de vítimas do Khmer Vermelho mortas entre 1975 e 1979, cerca de 17 quilômetros ao sul de Phnom Penh, Camboja. É o mais conhecido dos locais conhecidos como The Killing Fields, onde o regime do Khmer Vermelho executou mais de um milhão de pessoas entre 1975 e 1979. Valas comuns contendo 8.895 corpos foram descobertas em Choeung Ek após a queda do regime do Khmer Vermelho. Muitos dos mortos eram ex-prisioneiros políticos mantidos pelo Khmer Vermelho em seu centro de detenção Tuol Sleng e em outros centros de detenção no Camboja. Hoje, Choeung Ek é um memorial, marcado por uma stupa budista. A stupa tem laterais de vidro acrílico e é preenchida com mais de 5.000 crânios humanos. Alguns dos níveis mais baixos são abertos durante o dia para que os crânios possam ser vistos diretamente. Muitos foram quebrados ou esmagados.
Wat Phnom : Situado no topo de uma colina coberta de árvores de 27m de altura, Wat Phnom é a única colina da cidade. Segundo a lenda, o primeiro pagode neste local foi erguido em 1373 para abrigar quatro estátuas de Buda depositadas aqui pelas águas do Mekong e descobertas por uma mulher chamada Penh. A entrada principal para Wat Phnom é através da grande escadaria oriental, que é guardada por leões e balaustradas naga (cobra).
A Estátua do Rei Pai Norodom Sihanouk é um grande Memorial de Bronze. Está localizado na Praça Independente no centro de Phnom Penh
O Monumento da Independência em Phnom Penh, capital do Camboja, foi construído em 1958 para comemorar a independência do Camboja da França em 1953. Fica na interseção da Norodom Boulevard e da Sihanouk Boulevard, no centro da cidade. É na forma de uma estupa em forma de lótus, do estilo visto no templo Khmer em Banteay Srei e outros locais históricos Khmer. O Monumento da Independência foi projetado pelo arquiteto cambojano Vann Molyvann. Tem 37 metros de altura. Durante as comemorações nacionais, o Monumento da Independência é o centro da atividade. Uma chama cerimonial no pedestal interior é frequentemente acesa por um oficial real ou alto nessas ocasiões, e tributos florais se alinham nas escadas. Todos os anos, o Monumento da Independência é visitado por turistas estrangeiros e locais. Atrás do monumento está o Memorial Norodom Sihanouk, construído em 2013.
Wat Ounalom é outro dos cinco mosteiros originais de Phnom Penh (1422). abrigava o Instituto Bouddhique e a biblioteca. À beira-rio, a cerca de 250 metros ao norte do Palácio Real, de frente para o rio Tonle Sap, perto do Palácio Real, este pagode serve como sede de um dos patriarcas budistas mais reverenciados do Camboja. De 2009 a 2011, passou por uma reforma de US$ 4,2 milhões financiada pela Agência Francesa de Desenvolvimento. O exclusivo edifício Art Deco é um marco de Phnom Penh. Antes de 1935, a área era um lago que recebia escoamento durante a estação chuvosa. O lago foi drenado e a construção começou em 1935. So Phy was a great tour guide. He was knowledgeable, kind and patient and willing to share personal experiences. A very memorable tour.
I.am incredibly disappointed with this trip, especially considering how expensive it was. It felt less like a premium experience and more like a cash grab. The Guide: While they weren't rude, their delivery was incredibly monotone and so quiet that half the group couldn't even hear them. It made the entire itinerary feel tedious rather than engaging. The "Restaurant" Trap: The description states that the tour takes you to a restaurant, but it conveniently omits the fact that absolutely nothing is included—you have to pay for everything out of pocket. The Real Issue: If I am paying for my own meal, I want the freedom to choose where I eat. Instead, we were funneled into a specific spot where it felt blatantly obvious the tour company was getting a kickback/backhander for bringing in captive customers. Save your money. Between the lackluster guiding and the forced, overpriced lunch stop, this tour is absolutely not worth the high price tag.

Knowledgeable tour guide with great transportation. Mr. Tukk was very knowledgeable about each site we visited. We traveled with a group of 14 and he was super patient working with the group, answered a variety of questions and kept us on schedule to see all of the sites on our itinerary within a reasonable amount of time.
