Today was my birthday and all I wanted was a quick getaway to see the Nile River for a peace and quiet morning. I was picked up from my hotel for an extra fee and the driver also made stops as a free tour included at shops like the perfumes, spices, cotton store, jewelry store, and the papyrus. I went solo and the boat captain helped take photos as well. I would very much recommend.

We were lied to and yelled at by our driver, Raafat, just because we told him we did not want to be taken to places for shopping!! He still took us to one place where we had to graciously excuse ourselves, then he tried more places but we refused and he insisted he knew what was best, even though we told him several times we just wanted the boat ride. Once we finally got to the boat it was an old boat with one sale, not the Felucca in the photo on Viator, and we basically just sat in the same spot on the Nile for an hour before returning to shore. Total rip-off and waste of time and money…not to mention to be berated by the guide!!!
