Este passeio é guiado por alguém que nasceu e cresceu na Rocinha e passou mais de uma década andando nessas ruas com visitantes. A diferença não é o acesso por causa da novidade, mas o contexto. Em vez de paradas guiadas ou enquadramento dramático, o foco é em como a favela realmente funciona: seu layout, rotinas diárias, dinâmica social e história como um bairro vivo. A rota segue lugares que fazem sentido localmente, guiados por familiaridade em vez de desempenho. Porque esta é uma experiência guiada localmente, de pequenos grupos, o passeio se move a um ritmo humano. As perguntas são bem-vindas, as conversas são abertas, e as explicações vêm da experiência vivida, não de pesquisa de segunda mão ou narrativas repetidas. Não se trata de vender perigo, pobreza ou espetáculo. É sobre entender a Rocinha como ela é, guiada por alguém que pertence aqui.

Itinerário
Após o encontro com o Guia Turístico, haverá uma breve conversa inicial sobre o funcionamento do passeio, esclarecimento de dúvidas e regras básicas. Em seguida, os turistas farão um tour educativo a pé por toda a descida, com locais OPCIONAIS para compras de Souvenirs (que servem como doações para a Favela), Almoço em restaurante familiar local e muitos lugares lindos para fotos. Lembrete: O passeio é EXCLUSIVAMENTE em inglês.

An Eye-Opening and Truly Authentic Experience in Rocinha Favela. I felt completely safe the entire time. Luiz was attentive, stayed with us closely, and made sure the small group of 6 moved smoothly.
My partner and I did this tour with Luiz a while ago and it is one of the best experiences I remember from Brazil. We were looking for a guided walk and led by a local person to learn for real. I highly recommend it!!

Our guide was so informative and nice to tour with. He even asked if we would wait a little for another couple who were running late. We waited and waited but in the end we had to leave. I believe the lady became very abusive on text and this was so unfair to our guide as we all waited for some time. It was their duty to turn up on time like we did. Anything she says in a review I would ignore, it is unjustified! He is brilliant, kind and patient.
I highly recommend this tour to anyone staying in Rio. We were a bit hesitant booking this tour but our guide luiz put our minds at rest and opened our eyes on life in a favela. I guarantee you will truly see what life is really like instead of what the films show you! I'd recommend doing a favela tour with a local guide, luiz was very knowledgeable and open to answering any questions we had. Thanks luiz!
