Na companhia de um guia de natureza, neste passeio de barco irá descobrir porque é que a Ria Formosa foi eleita uma das 7 Maravilhas Naturais de Portugal. E porque as aves são um dos ex-libris deste Parque, neste passeio elas merecem um destaque especial. Considerada uma das zonas húmidas mais importantes para as aves aquáticas em Portugal, ao longo do passeio fazemos observação de aves como a cegonha-branca (Ciconia ciconia), a garça-branca (Egretta garzetta) e o colhereiro (Platalea leucorodia). O passeio segue em direcção a uma das ilhas do Parque Natural, passando por viveiros de ostras e amêijoas. As aves limícolas são as mais abundantes, sobretudo durante o Inverno, no entanto aves como o maçarico-gâlego (Numenius phaeopus), a rola-do-mar (Arenaria interpres) e a tarambôla-cinzenta (Pluvialis squatarola) são uma presença constante. Aqui terá oportunidade de ver uma das actividades económicas mais importantes do Algarve e também muito interessante para a observação de aves como o macarico-de-bico-direito (Limosa limosa), o ostraceiro (Haematopus ostralegus) entre muitas outras.
Rumo a um dos pontos onde a ria se encontra com o mar, o passeio continua em direcção às ilhas passando por viveiros de ostras e amêijoas.
Aqui terá oportunidade de ver uma das actividades económicas mais importantes do Algarve como os viveiros de ostras e amêijoas.
Rumo a um dos pontos onde a ria se encontra com o mar, faremos uma pausa para que desfrute de um lugar paradisíaco. Esta é uma importante zona de reprodução da andorinha-do-mar-anã (Sterna albifrons) e do borrelho-de-coleira-interrompida (Charadrius alexandrinus). Já no Inverno são aqui frequentemente observados garajaus (Sterna sandvicensis) e flamingos (Phoenicopterus roseus). As espécies de aves listadas podem variar de acordo com a época do ano. Por estarem em seu habitat natural, a Formosamar não pode garantir totalmente a observação de todas as aves mencionadas.
O passeio termina com vistas deslumbrantes da cidade velha de Faro.

It was very interesting to look at the birds and some huge crabs in their habitat. We used binoculars to enjoy the view and not to bother the wild animals. The guides helped us to identify each bird and to spot the crabs.

We decided to go on this bird watching cruise at the last minute and it was the best decision we had made! Our guide Luis was so knowledgeable about the birds and the environment and made all of us in the boat most welcome. He also spoke in German and Spanish too! Excellent value for money!

Thoroughly enjoyed! Just the right length trip for us. We were pleasantly surprised to see so many different species (in the teens) and our guide was wonderful at spotting and pointing out everything to us. He was extremely knowledgeable and entertaining.

Really fantastic! Saw over 20 species through top notch binoculars and had a little stop over in the dunes. The guide was super knowledgeable about the birds and even provided the names in different languages. My highlight was seeing five spoonbills!!!

This was a great trip out into the tranquil Ria Formosa lagoon and natural park. We were lucky to see a variety of birds including highlights for me, the Osprey and Flamingo. Our guide was extremely knowledgeable and the whole experience was relaxing and enjoyable. I would definitely recommend this spring time trip.

An excellent trip. Carlos was really good and helpful, both for my wife who is fairly knowledgeable about birds and myself who am interested but I don’t know a lot. We saw many types of birds including an osprey. Carlos even took the effort to go right round the bay so we could have a closer view of the osprey and those with good cameras could take a photo.
