A melhor maneira de ver Akamas! Este passeio é a maneira mais aventureira de explorar a Península de Akamas e o Parque Nacional. O quadriciclo lhe dará a sensação de liberdade e o buggy lhe dará o conforto para aproveitar esse passeio. Você pode ter a experiência de dirigir um veículo off-road nas ruas empoeiradas, mas também nadar nas águas azuis da baía de Lara e da praia da Tartaruga. Itinerário
O passeio começa às 10:00, mas os motoristas devem estar aqui com pelo menos 20 minutos de antecedência para preencher a papelada, conhecer os motoristas que instruirão os veículos e as normas de segurança. No meio do percurso, haverá paradas em cafés para água e banheiro. Tenha em mente que a condução off-road pode ser empoeirada, por isso recomendamos cobertura facial e roupas informais. Para aqueles que pretendem nadar, tragam consigo o que considerarem necessário, como roupa de banho, toalhas e protetor solar.
Pegeia está situada principalmente nas encostas íngremes das colinas costeiras no interior da Baía de Coral, no extremo sul da Península de Akamas. Diz-se que a origem do nome Pegeia deriva da palavra latina Baia (Baía). A própria vila foi colonizada por venezianos, durante a Dominação Veneziana de Chipre (1489-1570).
O EDRO III, com bandeira da Serra Leoa, encalhou em 8 de setembro de 2011 em mar agitado, durante uma viagem a Rodes com uma carga de placas de gesso. No momento do acidente, o navio tinha nove tripulantes – sete albaneses e dois egípcios. A tripulação foi resgatada e transportada de avião para a segurança. O EDRO III pesa cerca de 2,5 toneladas e tem mais de 80 metros de comprimento. Embarcar no navio não é mais permitido, pois é perigoso.
A área possui cavernas, bem como formações rochosas espetaculares, que levaram milhares de anos para se formar. Anteriormente, quando a presença humana era menos proeminente, havia focas (Monachus monachus) habitando as cavernas, o que aumentava a popularidade da área entre os turistas.
Aqui, você pode comprar bebidas/lanches e usar o banheiro. Nesta área, entre 1952 e 1955, o Departamento de Antiguidades de Chipre escavou três basílicas cristãs primitivas e um banho, todos datados do século VI dC. O assentamento foi provavelmente um porto de escala para os navios que transportavam grãos do Egito para Constantinopla. O sítio arqueológico ao lado de São Jorge é considerado o sítio bizantino primitivo mais significativo em Chipre. Fora da costa fica a Ilha Yeronisos (Ilha Sagrada) que supostamente fazia parte do continente em algum momento. Os achados arqueológicos mostraram três grandes períodos de povoamento: Calcolítico, Helenístico e Bizantino primitivo. Há uma igreja que você pode visitar, bem como catacumbas, que se acredita terem pertencido à versão anterior, bem como uma pequena marina cênica que aumenta o charme e a vista espetacular de São Jorge.
Nesta parada, nadamos e informações sobre as tartarugas. Paramos em um café perto da praia de Lara, onde você pode almoçar ou tomar um lanche/bebida (não incluído no preço). Akamas é a última grande área costeira intocada remanescente em Chipre e um dos poucos locais importantes de nidificação de tartarugas marinhas no Mediterrâneo. Tanto a Tartaruga Cabeçuda (Caretta-caretta) quanto a mais rara Tartaruga Verde (Chelonia mydas) nidificam em Turtle Bay; este último depende das praias de Akamas para sua própria sobrevivência nesta região. A IUCN (União Internacional para a Conservação da Natureza) lista as cabeçudas como “vulneráveis” e as tartarugas verdes como uma “espécie ameaçada”. De acordo com a IUCN, o número anual de fêmeas de tartarugas verdes em todo o Mediterrâneo pode ser tão baixo quanto 325-375. Do final de maio a setembro, você pode ver os ninhos que são protegidos por pequenos recintos. Em 1989, a região costeira de Lara e o mar adjacente foram declarados Área Protegida. Akamas é nomeado após o filho de Teseu, o mítico rei de Atenas. A vegetação principal da floresta de Akamas é composta por uma flora muito rica e arbustiva, e as árvores mais dominantes são pinheiros, oliveiras selvagens e alfarrobeiras selvagens. Muitas minas de magnésio costumavam ser operadas na região de Akamas. Hoje, encontram-se galerias de minas abandonadas, junto às quais se encontram os restos de fornalhas e fornos que serviam para o beneficiamento do minério à vista. Não há assentamentos em Akamas hoje. No entanto, há restos de muitas igrejas; hoje a maioria deles são conhecidos como nomes de lugares ou estão desertos.

a great way to see the island, covering many of the most popular tourist spots. the staff were excellent, and the buggy’s were easy to drive and allowed for easy transport across off-roading areas. the variety of food options was limited, but all were very delicious. the negatives include the fact that the goggles provided do not fit with regular glasses underneath as was assured. further, a wider variety of routes would be appreciated as we stay in cyprus every year and do the same route every year.
Very friendly staff. High quality quads and buggies. Our buggy was brand new and perfect for three of us. Very informative guide on the tour. Plenty of stops on the 5 hour tour to take in the sights. The lunch (you can purchase) was delicious. I would definitely reccomend this trip.
We booked this 5 hour tour on a spur of the moment And what an amazing adventure it turned out to be from seeing the sea caves and shipwreck to Lara bay and on seeing turtles the turtles in the water at Lara bay was brilliant then to go onto some other amazing places stopping for a lunch with a view then onto the mountains and the views are to die for From the very start to the end our guides were absolutely great would highly recommend 10/10
Not a great experience too many mechanical issues with 2 quads and a buggy that has limp mode issue for three house ruined the experience - no offer to refund or anything poor and ruined our day
My partner and I had the best day yesterday on this trip. The buggies are so much fun and a great way to see lots of this beautiful island. The stops were great and have a good amount of time at each. 5 hours flew by and we were sad to get back. All of the staff we're really friendly and accommodating, even when we were a little late due to taxi delays. Thank you so much.
the worst company I've ever driven with, doesn't let you go faster or have fun even 1%, everything is very strict and unpleasant, money spent in vain and I don't recommend it to anyone! My friends were all sad and had a bad time!

We booked the tour privately with a buggy (5 hours, 350 €) and had a guide who drove ahead. The route was varied and offered insights into the landscape of Akamas National Park , not far pure, but up to Larabay – overall a beautiful experience. However, we would have expected more individuality from a private tour. It was only operated according to plan, with long, specific stops and a 35-minute lunch break in a less attractive place with groups – although we had explicitly stated that we did not want lunch. Especially with a private booking, it would have been nice if something more had been taken into account – for example, more driving, less waiting. Overall good, but with room for improvement in the flexibility and service thoughts of the young guide.

A fun way to visit the Turtle Beach site, lunch at Lara bay and the off into the hills above the Akamas Penninsula. This is the way to go to this beach. A few people were heading with cars but the track is very rough. Our guide was very relaxed and friendly. A very dusty ride so take a face covering and wear clothes you don’t mind getting dusty. A great, fun day out

A fun day out for anyone. We went as a couple but equally as good for families of all ages. We had been due to go on the Akama tour but were told that we would be the only ones on the tour and asked whether we would go on the Adonis baths tour instead. We agreed, and whilst it wasn't exactly what we had planned, it was great to see scenery and more rural Cyprus. Tip - If travelling by car or taxi, go straight to the Agios Georgios Road address. This is where the tour starts and will avoid having to get a lift from the showroom.
Booked these through TUI and the team did not disappoint they made it fun and very enjoyable, staff were very attentive and extremely polite, there was 2 buggys in front of my son and i with young french men messing about and the team dealt with it swiftly and took action. I cannot recommend this enough and I will certainly be back and one of my excuses to come back to Cyprus as that's the best excursion and experience my son and I have had.
