Our tour guide Dimitri was great. It was a large group of about 25 people, which is probably more than I would like on a tour. Dimitri provided great insights throughout the tour. He was very knowledgeable and patient. Versailles is very crowded, especially in the summer. We had to wait about 30 minutes past our departure time for the entire group to show up, then had to wait about 10-15 minutes to be admitted into the palace, even though guided tours get expedited processing. It would not have been a problem except that I had a very limited amount of time for the tour and I was conscious of the time lost waiting. Once inside, you have to navigate your way through crowds of people, which is not the tours guide’s fault at all but something to be aware of. The Gardens of Versailles are enormous. Our tour guide brought us to the gardens, gave us an entry ticket, and explained how to get around, either by rented golf cart or a tram. You could easily spend half a day going through the gardens and the other buildings on the property. All in all, it is absolutely worth a trip to see this beautiful palace, and I cannot say enough good things about Dimitri!

Wonderful experience with knowledgeable guide. Spent 2 hours in the palace & almost 4 in the gardens & could have spent more time in the gardens. Having a printed map with us at the beginning would have been useful for someone like me that is visual.
