O vulcão Pacaya é um dos muitos (ativos) localizados ao redor de Antígua, antiga capital da Guatemala, e talvez o mais acessível. A última grande erupção do vulcão Pacaya foi em 2010. Até 2016, era realmente possível ver lava de perto durante a caminhada - diferentes empresas de turismo usavam rotas diferentes. Durante as caminhadas ao pôr do sol, assim que escurecia, o vulcão podia ser visto jogando fumaça e lava.

Os viajantes serão buscados em seu hotel e transportados em microônibus para o Parque Nacional do Vulcão Pacaya. As trilhas estão em boas condições, mas são íngremes até chegar a Pacaya em um percurso de 3,7 quilômetros. À medida que se eleva, passará por florestas, terras agrícolas e lava. Você caminhará em trilhas de terra e cinzas soltas, portanto, use sapatos resistentes. No cume, você poderá desfrutar de vistas maravilhosas sobre as fumarolas, que podem estar jogando cinzas, pedras ou lava. This was a great hike....not too difficult and too time consuming but still very rewarding. David was a great guide....the vistas and the satisfaction are totally worth it

Get ready to hike. I do not think this is a beginner’s friendly hike, more moderate- advanced. They have gourdes that you can ride up the mountain but they are pretty overpriced so be sure to carry extra cash if you cannot complete the hike. (Mind you I actually work out and it was difficult). Great experience overall, but beware of physicality required.
We greatly appreciate your opinion, although you mention things that ARE NOT UNDER OUR CONTROL, such as the price charged for the horses (as they are not ours). As for the level of difficulty you experienced when hiking up the volcano, even children climb this volcano. We always appreciate your comments, Hector
Be prepared to hike up or take a horse. I decided to hike. Amazing experience and seeing the volcano up and being able to sit on volcano rock and admire the scene down below was a amazing. The small group I was with and or your guide was absolutely amazing. The volcano hike turned strangers friends.

This was a perfect hike for me the altitude got to me and was able to get on a horse and get to the top. Did the hike down it was amazing. It was a great way to celebrate turning 50

I had a great time at Volcan Pacaya. The guide Mynor Peralta was very knowledgeable and our hike up to the top was nice and fun. He even practiced speaking Spanish with me. There were horses available to rent, but I didn’t feel the need for it and just walked up. The view at the top is amazing. Oh, and he volunteered to take some Instagram worthy pictures, total win.

What a wonderful experience it was! Wow! It was so magical to do a horseback riding all the way to the top of the volcano and enjoying breathtaking views of the mountains and volcanoes!! This trip is a must!!
