We really enjoyed learning how traditional Uzbek bread is made and getting the chance to make it ourselves. It was a fun and unique way to learn more about Uzbek culture and traditions. A special mention to our guide, Abdulaziz, who explained everything extremely well. His English was perfect, and he made the whole experience very dynamic, interesting and enjoyable. Definitely worth it and highly recommended!
Amazing experience and great to see local areas of the city.
Excellent activity where we got to see the whole process of baking bread, including the bakers diving into the tandirs. We also got to try out making bread and bring bread back home. It was a really unique experience! Thank you to our guide Abdulaziz who explained the whole process to us, told us about Samarkand too and had interesting conversations with us. He made sure we were taken care of and enjoyed the whole experience.
Thank you Abdulaziz for a wonderful tour of the local bakery and allowing us to get involved with the traditional bread making. It was a super fun experience and incredible insightful to see the clay oven (tandir) still being used to bake delicious Samarkand bread to this day. Highly recommend this experience, Abdulaziz is a super cool guide! :)
Great experience to learn the basics of making bread in Samarkand. My guide, Abdul Aziz, was genuine and professional and answered all my questions about break making. Absolutely satisfied
Our guide was very friendly and taught us many things about the city. The bakery visit was very interesting and it was great to be able to make our own bread!
We loved the experience! They explained to us the history and culture of Samarkand. Would definitely recommend! :)
What a treat to have John again as our tour guide (see our review of the Sun Institute tour) Yes we made our bread and it was delicious! Thanks to him we again had a chance to get to appreciate Uzbek culture as he was very helpful and spoke perfect English.
Opportunity to get a glimpse into the local cultural where the making, and breaking, of bread plays a very important role. Guide was helpful, interesting and spoke great English.
It was amazing to see the full process of how they make the traditional Samarkand Bread in a real bakery. Not a show arranged for Tourists - but the real deal - exactly what one wants to see! Abdel Aziz translates and explains everything, takes pictures and Videos and makes sure the eyperience is great. The Baker guys are also nice! I could also try all the parts of the process myself - hands-on. I highly recommend this activity. And as a bread lover especially :)
