Caminhando de uma ponta a outra do centro da cidade, faremos você se apaixonar pelos eventos muito particulares de uma das famílias mais famosas da história: os Medici. Passaremos duas horas no equilíbrio entre a fofoca e a verdade, falaremos de pessoas famosas e não reconhecidas, trataremos do sagrado e do profano. Da piazza Santissima Annunziata ao Palazzo Pitti, não haverá tempo para ficar entediado! Passando pelo Palazzo Medici, primeira residência nobre da família, faremos uma parada na igreja de San Lorenzo, construída de acordo com seu gosto e tamanho. Chegando à Catedral, descobriremos o envolvimento da família na criação do que ainda é considerado um milagre da arquitetura renascentista: a cúpula de Brunelleschi. A partir daqui chegaremos ao coração do poder político da cidade, o Palazzo Vecchio e, cruzando a ponte mais antiga de Florença, chegaremos ao fulcro da ambição dos Médici: o Palazzo Pitti.

Federico was amazing in all of her knowledge about the tour. She walked us through all the important places and explained in detail how each building and history it portained to the Medici family. Answered questions and was patient.

The details you don't know and so much they say. As a family was able to gather so much power and also share it with their community.
Given a precipitously announced rail strike, need to change dates to the following day. Even though there were no tours covering the same content for the next dat, the representative at Viator found one for us: Antonio Bencista. He was stellar, providing detailed history of everything Medici. What's more, my wife and I were his sole students. In addition to providing us with precise background information about the Medici family, he encouraged and was able to answer any questions we dreamed up, about the Medici's, Florence, Italy or Italy's place & perspective at any point in world history. Outstanding. Of note, Viator did NOT charge us a penalty fee for the needed change in tour dates (unlike Crown Tours who slapped us with a 65 euro/pp fee for a date change necessitated by the same rail strike).

Our DAR Chapter went. There were 10 of us. We all love history. You can't beat the ticket price. The Director of Meadow Garden was our tour guide. She was so professional, knowledgeable and very sweet. So glad that we went. There are lots of good restaurants close by. There was plenty of free parking. They are open M-F but a group can schedule a tour on Saturday if needed. That is what we did.
