“Eco Friendly Tour Operator of the Year 2018”, “Vencedor do Travel & Hospitality Award” e recebeu o “Hall Of Fame Status” (2019) e “Travellers Choice” (2020/2021) no TripAdvisor.

Me and my mum did the overnight jungle trekking tour in may 2026. We could not wish for a better trip! Everything went perfectly smooth from the beginning. Our group consisted of 7 people plus our two amazing guides Hendra and Chippy. We spotted the first Orang Utan as well as Thomas leaf monkeys before even entering the national park. Throughout the hike we saw many kinds of animals such as hornbills, turtles and different kinds of monkeys. The campsite was arranged nicely next to the river and we felt comfortable from the second we stepped out of the jungle. I can't find words to describe the wonderful and tasty dinner we got at the campsite. One of the many highlights was the Rafting back to Bukit Lawang the next day. Thank everyone for making our journey an unforgettable experience and I hope we will see us again (:
The 2d1n Orangutang trek with Ecotravel was truly amazing. The guides were great with good English proficiency. The food brought and cooked on the trip was fresh and the guides made sure there was no waste left behind. They ensured we were able to spot some (semi-)wild orangutangs in a sustainable and eco-friendly way, and gave us a lot of useful information. The campsite was also comfortable for an overnight stay. Would definitely recommend booking a trek with Ecotravel when visiting Bukit Lawang in Sumatra!
Wow what an incredible experience we had on our 2 day 1 night Jungle Trek. We were with a group of 8 of various ages, we are in our 50’s and reasonably fit. The trekking itself is challenging, the heat and humidity was so intense. You really do need to make sure you hydrate and prepare to sweat like you have never sweated before! Bring and use Hydra lites as well as water. Trekking to camp took around 9 hours we saw many wild and semi wild Orangutans, Gibbons, Monkeys along the way. Camping in tents were hot and very basic, camp food was delicious and the guides are so kind, friendly and helpful. A very special thanks to our amazing guide Wan Wan who really helped us get through the last part of the trek when the heat and humidity got the best of us. Wan Wan was patient, caring and so knowledgable about the trek, how to navigate the terrain and kept us safe! We would highly recommend Eco Travel for all your tours in North Sumatra. Great communication, very professional and well run business who genuinely care about their visitors and ensuring that ethical and eco friendly practices are maintained.
We did a 2-day jungle trek with Eco Travel. It was one of the most beautiful experiences so far. This organization has very good guides and they are very respectful towards nature. They are also extremely helpful and know what they’re doing. Special thanks to our guides, they truly made this trip an adventure.
The best! Excellent guides (Anton and Antonio), really looked after us with the trek, saw the Orangutans and all types of wildlife (7 species of monkey). Magical!
It was an incredible experience ! The guides were very kind and attentive to our wellbeing. They share their wealth of knowledge throughout the trek. Their approach is respectful of the environment and wildlife. All the meals were generous and delicious. The accommodation was very comfortable. Don’t hesitate to book your trek with them!
We went together with our guides Hendra, Gigi and especially Wan wan to do a tour through the jungle. 2 days and 1 night. The first day was tough, suffering but very special. We saw our first Urangutan after son half an hour! It was a female and it was like she was putting on a show for us. We really took the time to admire this Urangutan. Very special to experience this. We were well informed about the monkeys, what to do, what not to do and adhered to this. It was so beautiful to see how the animals live here in the wild. During the tour were excellently catered for with a selection of fruit, the tastiest fruit you will ever eat in the jungle. A few hours later a delicious nasi with egg. You also need it because the tour is nice and intensive. So all energy sources are welcome. During the tour, my girlfriend had a very hard time. Where the group was split in two and we continued together with Wan wan. We slowed down a little and when she wanted to rest, we rested. Wan wan helped her with every step and explained exactly where to take her steps. He unloaded her right through the Jungle with his positivity and fun jokes and stories. We really wouldn't have made it through this without him. Again a special thank you to him and I hope we will meet again in the future. Base camp is a fantastic place, dinner was a kind of rice table which was very tasty! The jungle water taxi is great way to get back to the accommodation! Hendra, Gigi and especially Wan wan, thank you so much for everything! Brian and Luna

My friend and I had an amazing time at EcoTravel Sumatra! The team including Christina, Kembar, Hendra, Awi, Kondak, Ari and Door were all responsive, friendly and helpful! Our room was immaculate and comfortable. The food was delicious and fresh. We will never forget our one day Orangutan Trek. Seeing Orangutan in their natural habitat was a privilege! They are majestic creatures. I really appreciate EcoTravel Sumatra's efforts to adopt sustainable practices and give back to the beautiful environment that is Bukit Lawang.
We did a 2 day tour with Ecotravel. Everything was well organized and staff (both during the trek as at the hotel) is wonderful. At arrival we were welcomed by our guide Hendra who walked us through our itinerary so that we knew what to expect for the trek. Backpacks (for rent a small amount), towels and water were available at the hotel. The trek itself was pretty challenging, with steep hills and muddy terrain. Wildlife isn’t guaranteed but we were lucky to see 4 orangutans , which is definitely the main focus on these treks. Hendra and Awi did a wonderful job assisting us to get the best views of these beautiful animals. We also saw thomas langurs, macaques, gibbons, hornbills and monitor lizards. The food during the trek was amazing. The love for food really shows. After 8 hours we arrived at the camp site near the river, where we stayed in a tent. Basic but clean, except for the jungle toilet. The day after we did not do a hike but went to a nearby waterfall for a swim, before going back by tube to the hotel. An excellent two days and highly recommended.
