Seguimos para a antiga Riad, começando no centro da cidade, visitando o tradicional Dirah Souq (famoso por comprar tapetes antigos e outras antiguidades úteis da herança saudita). A caminhada é infundida com os aromas da fragrância de sândalo e outros aromas do oriente. O Souq é conhecido pelo vestuário masculino e é divertido assistir ao leilão que acontece todas as sextas-feiras
Depois disso, visitamos o Forte Masmak que fica a poucos passos do Old Souq e cuja importância está ligada à criação do 3º Reino Saudita, o moderno em que vivemos. O palácio fortificado foi construído durante o reinado de Abdullah bin Rashid no ano de 1895 d.C. para servir como guarnição militar para o exército de Abdullah bin Rashid. Sua Majestade o Rei Abdulaziz, pai da nação de hoje, capturou o forte em 1902, marcando o início da reconquista da Arábia pela Casa de Saud.
De lá, seguiremos para a famosa Kingdom Tower e sua Sky Bridge para ver Riad de um ponto de vista panorâmico a quase 300 metros acima da cidade.

Access to Sky Bridge is a bit hidden, but then it goes up to the wonderful bridge which allows great views of the city.

We went to the kingdom towers and the signage to the bridge was not very clear. After asking a few people and finally finding the place..going up…paying…it seemed like the staff were bored , they used sign language instead of warm friendly welcomes. Went for sunset and it was really warm up there - we couldnt wait till it got dark so we left

We have changed our Hotel and have given the new hotel information into the Tripadvisor booking “update your pickup location”and got a confirmation, but our guide was at pickup time in the former hotel. Tripadvisor has not updated this information to the Tour operator. So we lost over one hour of our half day trip. Our guide Khuram was very friendly and gave good explanations during the tour. He tried everything to be on time at the Skybridge that we were able to see the sunset, but it was gone already. Our learning is that we will never update changes to Tripadvisor anymore, only directly to the Tour operator.
