Old Perithia, também conhecida como a aldeia fantasma, tornou-se nos últimos anos um dos lugares mais populares para se visitar em Corfu. Foi construído no século XIV nas encostas do Pantokrator, bem protegido dos ataques dos piratas, na época fervilhava de vida e riqueza, pois os habitantes lidavam principalmente com terras agrícolas e pecuária. Com a ascensão do turismo, os locais começaram a deixar a serra, em direção aos balneários mais populares, até que a vila foi totalmente abandonada. Nos últimos anos a aldeia viu um ligeiro renascimento e existem restaurantes que servem especialidades locais, para aqueles que desejam parar para almoçar.
A vila de `Kassiopi um importante porto comercial durante séculos, hoje é uma das mais pitorescas vilas de pescadores que pontilham o norte da ilha, com suas colinas, forte imponente e vistas mais espetaculares do canal Nordeste.

We thought we’d discover a ghost village, but there’s a great vitality: a few restaurants and shops allow visitors to linger and enjoy the place to the fullest. It is even possible to stay overnight. On the other hand, WARNING to all European visitors: as soon as you arrive, the phones automatically connect to the Albanian network. Many of us had the unpleasant surprise of a non-package package — fortunately limited to €30, or up to €60 for some. Operators sometimes accept exceptional reimbursement, but it seems that vigilance is incumbent on users rather than the network, which does not provide any specific alert to avoid this trap.

Third visit to this outstanding location. Always a pleasure visiting, to see the old architecture and take in the sights of what this town used to be. Would recommend dining here at one of the tavernas in the old town.

We visited this place in June 2024 (how hot!) very interesting and a little distressing place, we had a great Guide, not too easy to reach and not suitable for those with walking problems..... but an experience to do! After the visit I highly Recommendation the sausage and friarielli sandwich in the adjacent kiosk, where you will find sympathy and cold drinks ..
Excellent service, the driver was Dina and she is amazing and very knowledgeable person we had a best time together . I highly recommend her for everybody who visit Corfu!!

I wanted to organise something from the norm as a day trip for some friends and after discussing this with Spiro we decided a day trip to Old Perithia in the Northern part of the island was the place. Spiro toured us along the coastal road highliting a number of places of interest with his great knowledge of the island and then walked us around the old Ghost Town of Old Perithia and explaining a lot about the history of the area. A fantastic and memorable day, thank you Spiro !!
