In the end, we needed to cancel our stargazing (due to earlier flight) but I want to leave this positive review due to remarkable customer experience! We had quite some troubles to find a spot and also appropriate place (as there are few observation places) and in every moment we were heavily supported by the operator (Marisa - you are gold). We have received dozen of tips and experienced a genuine care to make it best suitable for us and to make the trip as easy as possible, including support with the local rental car company. We were so sorry we cannot join the observation, but I am completely sure that these people would provide excellent service and are doing there utmost best. Cheers and we will come back to you if we ever come back on Fuerteventura!
Thank you!! So glad i could help and we are sorry we didn't get to look at the stars together this time. Should your travels bring you back to Fuerteventura, please reach out, we would love the opportunity to host you properly.
Loved this, something different for a few hours and well worth it. Met our guide Karen, she took us up into the mountains near Pozo Negra. Telescope set up, we took binoculars with us as well. Was a very clear night, no moon and we saw Saturn and Jupiter through the telescope along with the Andromeda Galaxy and the Seven Sisters which was really cool. When booking something like this, which is very weather dependent, it’s a pleasure to know that the tour company aren’t just looking to take your buck Off you and run. Karen went out of her way as we had two cancellations the week before but there was Never any question of paying and not getting the experience - 5 stars right there.
Thanks Alan, thank you for your patience. I know you joined us twice due to cloudy days We aim to give you a memorable experience, I´m glad we finally were able to get you out. Keep looking up!
Couldn’t be more full of praise for Karen and the team. One of things you get scared of in these types of trip is the “will they just charge us anyway and it won’t be very clear” - answer, an absolute NO. We got an email on a Tuesday to say it was off as the cloud cover wasn’t suitable. I doubted the Wednesday but it was on. We had paid a deposit but on the Wednesday it wasn’t great and we bailed out and Karen insisted that we came back the next week. Well we did, it was a big group due to the problems the week before, but it was awesome, Karen was brilliant and her friend Beth had come along with a fancy dang camera telescope thing that added to the trip as well. Great hosts, middle of nowhere, Milky Way, mercury, Saturn and her rings, Jupiter and his moons - laser pointers, lying on your back and thinking about nothing else. As Karen said, in order to see the light, you must have darkness- love it and 5 ⭐️ all the way.
Thank you for sticking with us through the cloudy days! We are so glad the wait was worth it and that you got to see so much. Join us again sometime.
Thank you, Karen, for the great evening with the very good explanations. Stargazing with SkyByNight is highly recommended. The meeting point is easily accessible and the drive to the observation site is well feasible. The blankets you bring are useful for observation without dislocating your neck. The first overview of the observation area is very helpful, informative and entertaining. This is followed by the observation of highlights in the sky. The telescopes used are very well suited and the handling proves technical knowledge.
Fantastic to hear that Karen's explanations were excellent and that you appreciated the initial overview. Her expert handling of the telescopes and deep knowledge of the highlights in the sky truly make the experience special. And yes, the blankets are a must for comfortable stargazing! Thank you for joining us.
Communication and organization great! Pick up reliable. Group size suitable. The love of the stars, expertise, humor and willing explanation were thrilling! Information about the island. Drones, etc. Exciting and entertaining!! It was just beautiful! Thanks to Karen and Marisa!!! Also for the photos !! PS: Dress nice and warm (November)
We love hearing that you appreciated the blend of expert knowledge and island information. Yes, do dress warmly, it can get cool in the evenings. I hope you will join us again in the future. Thank you from Karen and I (Marisa) :)
Late putting this review on (Sorry). We visited Fuerteventura mid- late August and went on this trip 19th August. We had an amazing time. We were picked up from our hotel (Elba Sara) promptly. There’s a self-drive option as well but we hadn’t hired a car for our holiday so the pickup option was just what we needed. We’d been contacted via email with all the info we need in advance . Our eldest son has learning difficulties and struggles on his feet a little due to poor balance, but Karen was amazing with him. The view is outstanding and a real ‘must do’ if you’re in the area on holiday. Karens knowledge of the constellations was brilliant, and she took time to point stuff out to all our kids with patience. Late on in the tour Saturn was visible through her telescope which seemed surreal and like being back at school. Would highly recommend this trip. Thanks Karen , lasting memories our kids still go on about.
Thank you so much for taking the time to share your experience with us. It truly warms our hearts to hear how Karen connected with your family and, especially, how she was amazing with your son. Ensuring that every guest feels included, comfortable, and able to enjoy the wonder of the night sky is our guide's top priority. Her patience and brilliant knowledge of the constellations are truly what set her apart. Thank you and your family for joining us. :)
It was a positive experience and also a bit magical because the place where the observation takes place is very particular. It takes place in a clearing, inside a circle formed by a stone wall that shelters from the wind. The organizer provides mats, binoculars and blankets. The person who accompanied us on the visit was an astronomical guide, he was not an astronomer.
We're thrilled you had a positive and magical experience. Our lead star guide has dedicated years to intensive training and mentorship with a renowned astronomer, and is highly accredited, certified and qualified by the Fundación Starlight (IAC). Her deep knowledge and passion for the night sky and of Fuerteventura, ensures a truly exceptional stargazing experience. I do hope you join us again.
Great experience! Karen, Dee and Marisa were great and extremely knowledgeable. Communication about meeting point and trip details were excellent! Photos sent through early next morning as well. Really recommend this as one of the best experiences I have done!
Many thanks for your kind words! We are super happy that we could give you some memories of your time under Fuerteventura´s night sky. Wishing you all the best and join us again sometime :)
The sky was clear, it was great for observation. We were in a place where it is possible to observe the stars of the Northern and Southern hemispheres.
Thank you for your review, we hope you can join us again
This is really recommended so particularly beautiful The female guide could tell a lot about it she had a James webb telescope where you could see saturn with rings Venus was in the west and march in the east
Thank you for your review, I´m glad we could share Saturn, Venus and Mars. We hope to welcome you back for more celestial sights soon!
