We met Maggie at the entrance to The George, Southwark, before embarking on this very interesting and gory 2 hour walking tour! Maggie was joined by various characters throughout, and together they brought the gruesome history of this area to life. This is such a great way to learn about local history. We are from London, but we learned a lot, and had a great evening too. Huge well done to our guides for wearing costume and staying in character during one of the hottest evenings of the year!!
Met Olly at a really old interesting galleried pub for the tour, almost a private tour as just myself and son. Olly showed us around some really interesting sites in Southwark, explaining the dark and gory side of lawless London of the past. We learned lots of interesting and fun snippets. Olly and his 'helper' Ben were great, funny characters who really brought the tour to life, thank you both for a really interesting yet humorous tour. We thoroughly recommend this easy walking, hour and half tour, not so much for kids but adults will love it! Well worth the money.
The Cloak and Dagger Immersive History Tour offers a fun, gory, and sometimes disgusting theatrical take on the history of Southwark. Mary, our guide, was dressed in costume and stayed in character throughout the tour, bringing stories of guts, gore, and the lives of ordinary people to life, making the experience engaging and memorable. Mary was joined along the way by characters from the era who, along with her, had a wealth of historical knowledge and were able to answer all questions in great detail. Mary’s enthusiasm for the subject was evident, and I highly recommend this tour—especially if you enjoy history.
Ollie and mark were fantastic they kept us entertained thru the dark and winding streets of Southwark Ollie was a natural and made history exceptionally fun mark was a brilliant character and made us laugh thru out the evening well done to these guys worth every penny I would like to also add we had a disable never of our group and they accommodated this Without making it obvious that adaptions had been made a truly wonderful experience
4 of us went last night and please let Ollie, our host know he was awesome. He made the evening such fun, entertaining and informative. He was a fabulous host and his ‘side kick’ aka Mark/Harold etc was brilliant. We loved him too. Such a great evening and so highly recommended. We had to peel away to get our last train before going back to the pub. So had to wave farewell. So want to say now how good Ollie is and what a great evening we had on 25.4.26. Highly recommended tour. You will laugh and enjoy and be thoroughly entertained whilst learning lots about the Southwark area of London. Perfect!
Ollie gave us a fantastically entertaining evening on the tour. Definitely worth doing it if you get a chance and fancy learning some of the dark dank history of Southwark!
Maggie, our tour guide, was funny, knowledgeable, insightful and ready for any crazy or funny question we had. We had a really fun group - our family of four, a solo traveler, and four fun guys out on the town. Maggie gave us some gory insights along the way….and a lot of history. She was amazing through the entire tour! You can tell she loves history and sharing London tidbits with tourists! So worth it!
Stories of the sometimes the gross and gory of the past of Southwark. Instead of hearing about stories of the upper classes, we heard stories about the poor peasants As a history buff I thoroughly enjoyed this walking tour. Learned a few things on the way. A perfect combo of history and comedic jokes. Maggie, our tour guide was brilliant, her passion of telling the stories really brought them to life. You can tell she really knows the stories, and cared about them, instead of just telling them. We shared a few laughs, a few gross facts and a few surprises on the way. Highly recommend
A brilliant evening out, learning about the awful but fascinating history of Southwark and the London Bridge area. Mary our guide was a bundle of fun, bringing each story to life through her enthusiasm and knowledge. Regardless of the question (and we had a few), she had a thorough and well researched answer for it, her insight was really impressive, and showed how much she cared about the subject matter and her work. A really engrossing, enjoyable experience. Definitely recommended.
Great tour and a fantastic education. All with Fun.
