What a magical time we had in the bucolic Nuratau mountains. The food was exceptional, as were our amazing guides. We had a friendly and sensible (always a welcome relief!) driver who delivered us to our home stay after a 5 hr drive from Bukhara. We were then introduced to the two most delightful guides who then spent the next 24 hrs with us. Both local to the area, they accompanied us on our two horse riding excursions and at meal times, explaining anything and everything about local life, nature and more. The accommodation at the homestay is basic but comfortable and you are made to feel like part of the family. We were not experienced riders but that did not matter. The two other members of our group were, and they had plenty of opportunity to go galloping ahead with one of the guides. It was a site to behold! Our final lunch in another village was equally as delicious. The onward trip to Samarkand with the same driver was another 3.5hrs. Would highly recommend.

We had some breathtaking mountain and desert views. The food in the village was home-cooked with local ingredients and was very good. Yogurt was especially great. Our driver Rutham took us to several recommended points and restaurants. He spoke English and drove safely. Overall it was very well planned and I think it was priced well for those looking for natural scenery and experiences.
