We had an amazing experience. We will give it a 10/10. Our tour guide , Tanner Klaus, was funny and entertaining. He was also very patient . The trip to the Arctic Circle was quite an experience. It was our first time to travel that long, on a rough and dirt road but we had so much fun because of Tanner. Every bumps on the Dalton Highway was like a roller coaster ride LOL. He was very patient and we can tell that he really likes what he does.He also has a very good eye for the Aurora. We had 2 great sightings of it and what a way for us to cap the night. The trip was all worth it and we will recommend it to our friends. Thank you Mr. Klaus for giving us an experience of a lifetime! —-Mario and Marie
Danielle was our guide and without him we would never have got to see the best aurora of our life time. Driving through the Dalton highway, amidst all the chaotic road bumps around midnight, Danielle kept an eye out for the aurora and every time there were lights we stopped. The final dance of the northern lights happened around 1:30 am and what a dance it was. Thanks to him and 1st Alaska tours for this wonderful memory.
Out of all the excursions we did touring the Fairbanks area, this was by far the best! The photo opportunities along the way were priceless. Daniel made sure to point out noteworthy points of interest. The Northern Lights gave us a show to remember on the way back. Daniel made sure to pull over several times for different photo opportunities. We loved how he was just as excited about the tour as we were. Highly recommend!
Beautiful landscape, awesome scenery. Worth the trip! Definitely will experience “the middle of nowhere “ - not a house in sight until the Yukon River. Stopped extra times to see the aurora - total trip was 15 hours.
Tanner was an absolutely wonderful driver and escort on the various stops. Our only complaint is that the seats are not suited for the length of the trip, but designed for an airport shuttle.
Tanner was our tour guide and he was amazing. He had a lot of experience and shared a lot of wonderful stories and facts about Alaska. He made our tour really special by hunting northern lights all the way.
What an incredible experience! It was our first time in Alaska, our expectations were sky high, and this did not disappoint. The scenic views and Northern Lights were breathtaking, but what really made the trip special was our tour guide, Paul. He was knowledgeable, entertaining, and genuinely a great person. He went far above and beyond what was expected in so many ways including: finding ways to make our kids feel special, extending or making bonus stops based on our preferences, and not rushing us through the tour. We made unforgettable memories alongside our new friend, Paul, in Alaska.
This was my first time in Alaska, and I genuinely couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Paul was our guide, and he was absolutely exceptional. What stood out the most was his passion and enthusiasm. When almost everyone on the bus had fallen asleep on our way back, Paul noticed the aurora intensifying and immediately woke us up so we wouldn’t miss it. What we saw was beyond words—fast-dancing, vivid auroras that felt unreal. I honestly couldn’t believe my eyes. Even after we were almost back at the hotel, Paul made an extra stop in a random parking lot just because the aurora appeared again. That moment alone shows how much he truly cares about giving people the best possible experience, not just following a schedule. This was a once-in-a-lifetime experience for me, and Paul played a huge role in making it unforgettable. If you’re lucky enough to have him as your guide, you’re in the best hands possible.
his was my first Alaska tour, and it was an amazing experience! I highly recommend our tour guide, Paul. He is extremely reliable and a very experienced driver, which made us feel safe the entire time. Paul truly cares about what he does, he shared so many fun and interesting facts about Alaska, and you can really feel how much love and passion he has for this place. His energy made the trip even better, and he went above and beyond to make sure we had the best experience possible. He worked hard to find the best spots to see the Northern Lights and stopped at multiple locations so we could get better photos. That effort made a huge difference and created unforgettable memories. Big thanks as well to Josh and Susan for the delicious sandwiches-they were much appreciated! Highly recommend Paul for your next trip. He made my Alaska experience so much better! Thank you!
Long day but the views were so worth it. The dome, the drunken forests, the enchanted forest and being able to say we have been to the Arctic Circle! The roads are rough but it’s an experience in itself with the real life ice road truckers flying by
