To begin, I will talk about my nice and cozy room, with a typical Sahara temperature (about 50º). The first time I entered, it reminded me of hell, I felt like Satan for a few seconds. Apparently, according to the Civitatis company, it was normal that some of the rooms had the pleasure of enjoying their stay without air conditioning. After the complaint, they offered me another room on the ground floor of the cruise ship, right next to the engines with a pleasant vibration and gasoline air freshener. According to the machines that I had the pleasure of listening to, I believe that in the next room was the Aston Martin box, fixing the car of Fernando Alonso, alias “El Nano”. After a new complaint, after two nights in the Sahara climate dimension room, I was moved to an acceptable room. Next, the facilities were not up to much. If a wave comes, they give us the snorkeling tour riding crocodiles. Positively highlight two subjects: Mohamed (the guide), a very kind, polite and friendly person, attentive at all times to his group and Hassan, the only friendly waiter and at the same time the most exploited, poor thing Parrales looked like in some episodes of La que it's coming. In conclusion, if you are expecting a moderately good cruise, this is not the best option.
More than satisfied with the boat Blue shadow iii, it was very clean, good food, staff very friendly and funny. Then our private tour was just perfect with our guide Ashraf who was joining the two of us to share his knowledge about ancient/new egypt. Very good guide we recommend ! The tour we bought with tripadvisor is quite complete in my opinion as it includes all the key monuments on the nile river between luxor and aswan and the fifth day we went by car to abu simbal. The fact that the guide is only apointed to the couple (as private tour) is very convenient! Finally, the tip is given to the entire cruise staff in an enveloppe at the end which is more comfortable than having to give a tip at every service like it is mostly the case in all egypt (I for example gave +- 10% of the price for tips divided to the guide and the staff)
The best staff all of 10. attentive professionals and helpful. The room well the bathroom well to be a boat. the acceptable food, the buffet could be more extensive. The t-shirt shop very well with better prices than in the market and better quality. The jewellery store careful because we were hit with a "suspected" exaggerated scam, we thought it was a serious store and we were charged a scam for a cross of life 65 E when here is worth 25 E. (we are already foolish, but we thought it was a serious and airy store as in the bazaar. so if you have to buy haggle to death or go elsewhere, we were scammed by the whole group. And that makes you leave with a bad taste in your mouth.
This cruise is a far cry from the luxury category, it is rather three stars. The room is quite spacious, has a table and two armchairs next to a large window to enjoy the views and plenty of space to place luggage in closets and drawers. It doesn't seem half normal to me the volume of music in the lounge bar that doesn't let you sleep when you arrive almost dead from visits. The food offered in the buffet is varied but battle. There was one day there was a menu with two dishes to choose from for dinner, there was no buffet. The Service overall good although I have to say that the Room Service tried my tired leg gel that I had in the fridge, the smell gave them away :(very bad of you.
Fairly good cruise with great service until the last day. At check out we saw several charges on our credit card from Nile river cruise that we were unsure about. We inquired at the front desk and were told initially that the charges were billed from their company in Cairo and that we should contact their office in Cairo about the charges. Amir from the front desk became extremely irate that we asked about the charges and started shouting to the top of his voice. He got into a heated argument with the tour guide who was assisting us. The scene left much to be desired. Guests were in shock as they passed by. Amir was totally out of control as he paced up and down shouting. He refused to allow the attendants to assist us with our luggage. We struggled off the boat with our luggage while the attendants just stood and looked in utter confusion. We later discovered that the charges had nothing to do with the cruise but was from a nearby ATM that we had use. Great experience otherwise, but the incident with Amir overshadowed the entire experience. Better vetting needed especially for front desk staff.
The bike is normal, not luxurious or has great lounges but it is all clean and the service is good. Only those who fix your room ask for tips and drinks are not expensive (£36 big water 93 a beer). To highlight the buffet of the boat, it is not great but from one day to the next it is super varied none of the 8 of the table we bored of the food and everything was always very good. Besides, if you're celiac, you don't have a problem. I told the head chef the first day and every day when he came in he would come out and tell me plate by plate that he was fit and not for me. Even if he detected that I had no meat or fish options because they all carried flour in the sauces I had prepared in the kitchen the version without sauce for him to choose what he wanted. (attached photo of the days we were to see the options I had) In general, I always had a potato version (fried, pure, baked, in sauce with vegetables... ) some vegetables steamed or in sauce (each day a different one), rice (eye because they do not do it only sometimes carries chickpea or wild rice or peas or NOODLES!.) Soups are not always good but vegetable creams were almost always good. Desserts were almost never suitable but there was always variety of fruit. rating: There was never any bread or pastries for celiacs at breakfast. They don't have any milk other than whole milk, they don't have any zero caffeine drinks. We all ate great during our stay
We took this 4-day cruise down the Nile as a part of our tour from Over Egypt Tours. From the moment we boarded this ship we were treated with friendly staff and a beautiful boat. The rooms were spacious and comfortable. And, the buffet food was great! Traveling by boat down the Nile to each of our destinations was a special treat. Yes, it was hot. But, as nightfall approached we wandered to the upper deck to enjoy the breathtaking scenery of the Nile River. The upper deck also had a pool which was perfect for dipping in to cool off. The deck also had plentiful umbrellaed tables to keep the hot sun off of our skin. If there was one issue, it had to do with the people in boats who latched on to our boat trying to sell all kinds of items. They were loud and persistent...staying with us for miles. However, I guess if nobody on board bought anything from them, they wouldn't come. So, unless that changes...the boat people won't go away any time soon. All and all, it was a very pleasant journey!
This was my first time in a Nile cruise and visiting Luxor and Aswan. This was truly an exceptional experience. Everyone was so courteous and nice. Everyday was rich with activities. Special thanks to Mr. Alaa, the talented and creative photographer on the ship that followed our group to take amazing pictures and videos. We were all truly thankful for him. The housekeeping staff also surprised us everyday with creating characters with the towels which was so hilarious. Thank you to all who made this trip unforgettable.
Blue Shadow Cruise is an excellent cruise service on the Nile that my wife and I enjoyed dyring our 4 days 3 nights cruise Aswan to Luxor...Good accomodation, nice arrangments for meals, good service by staff...Overall a package worth experiencing on an Egypt tour
Regrettable. Out of 5 stars Nothing.. maybe 1. School casino food. Chinese boat rooms. Disappointing experience.
