This was our first experience with Sidetrip Tours, and it exceeded all expectations. Marketa kindly pre-warned us that we would not stop at Karlštejn Castle due to the winter season, as it would be dark and the castle was closed. I was initially a bit disappointed but completely understood. Our first stop in Regensburg was incredible. We visited all the main sights, and Marketa was extremely knowledgeable, sharing fascinating historical tidbits along the way. We enjoyed authentic Czech food for lunch, followed by a guided tour of the heart of Pilsen—Republic Square, including the Cathedral of St. Bartholomew and the Renaissance Town Hall. The biggest surprise came when Marketa said she would try to visit Karlštejn before sunset—and she actually did it. The transport was comfortable, the tour was fun, informative, memorable, and New Year celebrations in Prague!
Abdul was such a knowledgeable and flexible guide. I learned so much about the history and culture of the areas we toured. From viewing beautiful stained glass in churches to walking across a stone bridge from the 12th century, I had experiences I will always remember.
Jane was prompt and on time foe our hotel pickup. She immediately settled in sharing about herself the area and the plan for the day. Jane also made sure to customize the day for us and our desires foe touring opportunities. We stopped in Regensberg Pilsnar and at the castle where she gave us time to see the castle. Jane continued to be our tour guide the entire 10 hours and dropped us off at our hotel in Prague. We were exactly on time with all the stops and certainly well educated in between stops. Can’t say enough about Jane and our experience and we plan to send people her way in the future. Excellent service Excellent Experience very professional and worth every penny! She even followed up to make sure we were doing ok - 10 star review in our book!!!! Thank you Jane!
Sidetrip Tours is THE BEST! We booked the side- trip tour Berlin — Prague. But we had to cancel due to changing travel plans. It was no hustle cancelling. It went smooth. A few days later we booked and took the Munich — Prague trip. It was great. Peter, our driver, was an excellent driver, guide and gentleman. We're more than happy with the ride and the way Peter guided us at the three stops in Regensburg, Plzeň and Karlstejn Castle. And it's so very convenient with the starting point from Marienplatz, in the heart of München to the final destination at Old Town Square, in the heart of Prague. Great way to see the fertile landscape and rural areas between the ancient cities. Leaving early, but with good time in the morning to enjoy breakfast and arriving in the evening, in good time to enjoy a nice dinner. The three stops were at very, very interesting historical sites. It was great to stretch the legs and we, who wanted, could buy souvenirs and enjoy nice cold local beverage, since Peter took the wheel. : ) Regensburg is old. It's Roman Empire old. There was pieces from a Roman wall just a block from river Donau with the ancient bridge. The visit to the beer museum in Plzen was interesting and the lunch, with a complementary beer, was very tasty. The Karlstejn Castle was founded 1348 by King Karl IV. The Swedish army invaded in mid 1600s in the 30 Years' War. The castle decayed but was renovated in the late 1800s The booking procedure, feedback and reminders from Sidetrip Tours office went smooth and highly appreciated. It was a great experience. We'll book Sidetrip tours again. We highly recommend Sidetrip Tours.
Our driver Stepan was great. He arrived at our hotel early and got us on the road on time. He provided a lot of insight and historical information at our stops and was very flexible with our group of 8 people. Highly recommend Sidetrips for your transportation needs.
The trip from Munich to Prague was well worth it, we had a great time with our tour guide Petra. She was very knowledgeable about the places we visited, she was also very attentive to our needs and helpful since we are all seniors. She goes above and beyond and made sure that we were dropped off safely to our hotel. Thank you, Petra! We appreciate you! 🥰
We had Filip on our side trip tour on Saturday October 26 from Munich to Prague. My name is Mame conroy and I booked thru you. Our experience was incredible Filip was a superb tour guide. He was so knowledgeable about the history of each of our 3 stops. He was engaging a d made the day top notch on our trip. Please let Filipino know that we are very grateful for his tour and all of the incredible information he shared. He was also an extremely polite young man that carried himself with poise. We really loved him!
Our private group tour with Petra was absolutely amazing. She was very informative and an absolute pleasure to talk to along the way. My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed the stops, and I believe we set the Sidetrip record for walking up the Karlštejn Castle at 18 min 46 sec! I highly recommend and will be using Sidetrip again in the future.
Our driver, Petra, was friendly, informed, and on schedule. We had a lively time in all three locations, an opportunity we would not have had on the train. While Regensburg should be on the itinerary of many, Pilsen was a surprise (industry snd development on the outskirts and history downtown. The castle was unexpected and stunning. Highly recommend! Thanks Petra.
I loved not losing a whole day to travel. We transferred from Munich to Prague and got to see Regensburg and Plzner which we otherwise would have missed. Unfortunately the Castle was closed the day we transfered. Filip the guide was soo nice, super helpful, prompt and courteous. He gave us tips on where to eat in Prague and even used the time in the car for language lessons on useful phrases we would need. Highly recommend.
