Best customer service

We didn't actually get to experience the excursion, but the excellent rating is due to customer service. We were on a Celebrity cruise, and the Pearl Island excursion was filled to capacity. I contacted Pearl Island Bahamas and asked if we could book this tour privately. Aaron Rose responded immediately and helped us arrange the tour around the arrival and departure times of our ship. Unfortunately the directions instructed us to meet behing Margaritteville, which we were never able to locate. Even asking others for guidance, we missed the boat taking us to the island. Aaron immediately reached out and offered a full refund. The prompt and courteous response were so appreciated. I would never hesitate to book another excursion with them, knowing they are responsive and have taken responsibility for the dated instructions which they are planning to update.

An experience worth

It was a great experience and an experience you never forget. The staff took great care to follow the rules and not harm the animals. The best part was when we were allowed to take the little piglets for pictures. Just a memory forever.

Island.

Pearl island is ok. It’s a small island. There are two bars. The food wasn’t good. But the beach was pretty nice although a bit crowded. The water is calm and very clear. I liked it.

SUCKS!

The ride over was on a junky boat that barely got us to the island. They had overbooked it so people had to volunteer to get off of the boat and forego their excursion. This was after they switched a bunch of people from the 8:30am tour to the 11:30am tour without telling us! Right smack in the middle of what little time we had in Nassau. The pigs were cute and all but there were some guests throwing the pigs in the water, chasing them and picking them up and tossing them around. I did go and tell on them. Nothing was done and I ended up yelling at the people for torturing the pigs. I wasn’t nice and I had to walk away before I ended up in jail in the Bahamas. If you’re ok with potentially leaving there with a broken heart, go for it. I for one, will never do that again. It sucked! Those pigs are not treated well and nothing is done about it.

Hi TrailBlazer, We’re truly sorry to hear about your experience, and we appreciate you taking the time to share it. What you described is not the standard we aim to provide, and we take these concerns very seriously. We apologize for the transportation and scheduling issues you encountered. Overcrowding and last minute tour changes should never happen, and we are reviewing our procedures to ensure this does not occur again. We are especially concerned by your comments regarding the treatment of the pigs. Any form of animal mistreatment is completely unacceptable. Our staff is required to intervene immediately in situations like this, and we regret that this did not happen during your visit. Management has been made aware, and we are reinforcing stricter supervision and zero tolerance enforcement to protect the animals at all times. We understand how upsetting this experience must have been, and we sincerely regret that it left you feeling this way. Thank you for bringing this to our attention. Feedback like yours helps us improve and do better.

Great experiences ok food

We had a lovely time interacting with pigs, there wasn’t much swimming, though we could have lured them into the water. We also did the snorkeling activity where the guide guides were helpful and knowledgeable. The views are great and you should definitely check out the lighthouse. The lunch was OK at best with unlimited options and portion sizes.

Just not worth the money

Just overall underwhelming for the price we paid. Staff on the island disengaged, gave incorrect information. Just compared to other excursions, very lack luster. Island run down.

Warning, the pigs don’t swim

I do not normally write reviews, but this place sucked so I had to!! The swimming with pigs is horrible. First you don’t even swim with them. Second the whole place is grubby and stinks! Even the food is outrageous and the photos look nothing like the real thing. Would not recommend. I wasted my time and could not get back until 2:30. Tiny Karen

Fabulous Pig Beach!

We are currently on a royal Caribbean cruise and swam with the pigs at pig beach today and it was fabulous!!! All of the pigs were amazing, the people working with the pigs were so friendly and helpful!! My children range from 4-14 years old and all of them had a great time! They are already asking when they can go again!!

Wading In Water With Pigs

We scheduled this excursion through our cruise ship the Celebrity Reflection. The gathering at the zone, lining up, walking to the transport cruiser was well organized and instructed by the professional, hilarious and disciplined Charmaine. What a gem! The travel to Pearl Island Beach Escape was around 30 minutes as well as the return voyage. Sure, Pearl Island isn't a four-star all expenses paid beach resort but there were cold drinks for purchase, interesting-beautiful surroundings and a great place to swim. The provided lunch was yummy - fried fish, chicken, dirty rice and coleslaw. Pig Island was so unique and interesting. It's less swimming pigs and more like hungry pigs wadding out into the water to be fed apples and what I hope were chicken hotdogs (LOL) by tourists on long sticks. I'm guessing that the brown/dark water around the pigs when they initially get into the water is a mixture of mud and poop, but they are pigs and it goes away in a moments time. While we didn't have any young children with us, I'd advise against this excursion for small children or any child who isn't going to be watched closely by an adult. Many of the pigs are large, heavy and can knock children down if not careful. There were so many opportunities to tip for such a great job by everyone so don't forget your small bills. Again, for anyone at the company who might read this - Charmaine is amazing and really made the day special. Do whatever you can to keep her on the job and ushering people back and forth to the Pearl/Pig Islands!
