It's entertaining for kids and the child in the adult! I highly recommend for some mind-bending fun!
This was a fun experience with my spouse. We looked at different things that were interesting and had a good time with the pictures we took
Fun! Peak times will have a decent wait for most exhibits. The last one - surf shack - should really have an attendant. You have to rely on another person to take the photo & it’s not as straight forward as you would think. Kids (teens) had a good time. Great way to beat the heat & have fun for an hour.
unfortunately not quite as good as we were hoping; we were warned beforehand that it was small but that's fine, size doesn't indicate quality of the exhibits. There are some cool exhibits but there are also some lackluster ones(in my opinion, a few too many). what is more frustrating is the lack of organization; once you walk back there it is a free-for-all because some people will hold up an entire exhibit for 15+ minutes taking numerous pictures. Let me start this by saying we have kids, so I understand curiosity and excitement and their absolute tendency to wander, but I was surprised to see how many kids were running around and actually walking into our family's time in certain exhibits. My suggestion is that all this could have been minimized by having staff at some of the more popular ones. Overall I think this is something to do to kill time but nothing would consider as a main attraction for your day.

A lot of fun with helping staff around. This place is a wonder land for kids. I have strongly recommend for take the whole family here for fun.
Great for the family! We spent a day in SD and chose the Museum of Illusions as our first stop. Our boys loved all the fun rooms and the brain lab where they worked on puzzles. The staff was great, offering to take photos and providing insight into the illusions. Overall a great experience.
It was super fun! I’m glad I found this place, Customers service was good as well. 10/10 experience 👍
We had a lovely time--I was with my brother, we are both San Diego natives and did not know the Museum was right close by. Our service was excellent. I wish there was a better way to do photos, I would go in a group of three. But they did let us go ahead and start a little early. All the exhibits were fun, the most challenging one was definitely the Vortex, which, if you walk through regularly, you are instantly seasick or at least think you're upside down. You aren't. If you shut your eyes its like walking on a perfectly flat surface.one of the other great ones was the big/small, and then the hanging from the side of the building. We had a blast, 10 out of 10, well worth it. The only thing in my opinion is more hand sanitizer, I get it that kids are germ magnets, but they don't seem to know and their parents aren't having them wash down and sanitize up. Maybe there should be someone ready to clean you up, or the illusion up? Just a thought. But it was really cool and I thoroughly scrubbed as much as possible. Also, it was the end of Spring Break so maybe parents were just exhausted. But would definitely go again, great day.
Highly recommend, it was so much fun! The whole museum was so interesting to see in person. Reading others' reviews are what made us want to go there. We had a blast!
