Museu Moco: Banksy, Basquiat, Warhol, Kusama e mais

A perfect small museum with lots of artists that have made an impact in the world.

We spend just over an hour there as a group of 15. We were let in in groups of 5 to space out the visit and stop us feeling crowded. the exhibits were out of this world, all contemporary artists some bordering on futuristic but all absolutely stunning. The staff was very friendly and helpful. A wonderful experience for a reasonable admission fee.

Expensive and uninteresting. Only very well-known Banksy works. Just a money grab

Art works are very different and interesting to view. You only need about an hour to view everything.

It was a decent experience with some interesting artwork. Wasn’t very big & I didn’t think warranted the price.

We both enjoyed the experience and would recommend it as a place to visit.

Let's start with the name: "Moco" apparently stands for "Modern Contemporary," but after our visit I've decided it actually stands for "Mostly Copies." The vast majority of what's on display isn't a singular, precious object you're privileged to stand before — it's a print. A print you could, theoretically, buy in the gift shop five feet away. There's no scarcity, no exclusivity, no sense that you're in the presence of something irreplaceable. You're in the presence of a very expensive poster shop with mood lighting. Then there's the location. Tucked smugly into Amsterdam's museum district, right alongside institutions that have actually earned their address, Moco borrows credibility by proximity alone. Step inside, though, and the illusion collapses immediately — this is obviously a converted townhouse. The "galleries" are what used to be bedrooms and hallways, there's no coherent route through the place, and you spend the entire visit doing an awkward shuffle-dance with strangers because there's nowhere for the crowd to go but through each other. The real masterpiece of disappointment, though, was the "exclusive" pink room — a paid add-on, no less. Picture it: a room painted pink, some NFT art flickering on a screen (truly the pinnacle of scarcity and exclusivity /s), and a "complimentary" Polaroid photo that turned out to be out of focus and mostly a picture of a wall. I've taken better photos accidentally in my pocket. One star, and that's generous — it's for the paint colour in the pink room. At least that was in focus.

Friendly welcome, even though I had to insist on putting my backpack in the cloakroom. Exhibition spread over 2 floors, accessible by stairs. Street art in the spotlight, especially Banksy. Beautiful exhibit, however a bit light on Andy Warhol.

The place is rather small.. it’s a 30 minute max visit and DON’T PAY FOR THE PINK ROOM !!! It is a classic SCAM !!! They put you in a room with 3 pink sofas and that is the experience.. make you a polaroid picture and go out. What a way to steal your money.. SCAM SCAM SCAM
