Wonderful experience
A pleasant surprise, an original way to get in touch with Moroccan flavors, smells, and hospitality, all accompanied by a truly remarkable location. A special note for the courtesy of the staff, in particular our guide Ghita and the dada who showed sweetness and patience even with our children.
What a phenomenal experience!! Ghita was really welcoming, the cooking class was really brilliant, chef was really patient too and the recipes were amazing!! Super delicious! Plus, we booked a 4pm slot and we were the only ones there so it was a private experience

Good food but very sad ending
It was extremely hot in Marrakesh today, and they gave us a tiny bottle of water during the cooking class. The heat from the stove was a lot and I was surprised no one fainted. After cooking they set out our food on tables, and there was still no water. I thought I would choke.
We later on found out why they deprived us of water. They actually wanted us to get to a point of absolute thirst where we’d be forced to order water which they would charge us a lot for. It was pathetic.
We’d cooked a delicious 3-course meal and I kept asking myself why they would spoil everything, all their hard work to overcharge their customers for water. It just didn’t make sense. It was literally a stupid business strategy to do this.
Surprising to me was how they kept arguing with us to say water was not included in the meal. It was shocking and also sad at the same time. We left with a bitter taste in our mouths.
I’d strongly advise you to take your water when you go there.

positive experience but I don't know if I would do it again
good experience considering that in all we were less than ten, despite the fact that the room could accommodate about forty. Prepared a chicken taijne and an eggplant sauce. Perhaps it lacked a bit of Moroccan atmosphere, each station has a monitor from which you can see the chef caught on camera. However, I was very sorry because after a week I asked for the two recipes by email as I could not find them anymore, attaching receipt and photos, but they refused to send them to me because "it's been a week", which I honestly can not understand, the recipes were very "normal". Going back I'd look for something more authentic. Still a positive experience.

We found this on Tripadvisor and are so pleased we did it. The guided tour was lovely and cooking proper food was a great experience. Much more flavour

Great cooking class!
Great experience with Basma and others on the team.
The cooking class was great (tagine, eggplant, salad, desert) as was learning about how to make tea.
Highly recommend.

I never knew I could cook Moroccan food!
Basma guided a small group of 4 of us through a wonderful afternoon of exploring and then cooking Moroccan food. Fatima showed us how to make Berber bread and then it was our turn to cook. The demonstration kitchen was imaculately prepared with all we needed set out at our work stations. Each step was carefully demonstrated by the chef and explained by Basma. They both kept a careful eye on our efforts as we went along.
We made 2 beautiful salads, a tagline of chicken, lemon and olives and a pastille with a milk cream and almonds. The 4 of us sat on the roof top terrace to eat what we had made, we were then presented with diplomas and a very Moroccan gift to take home. All in all a wonderful way to spend an afternoon and good value for money

Make this a part of your Marrakech journey, learning to cook is a way to take your experience home
This my second visit to the Moroccan Culinary Art Museum and a tremendous upgrade on my visit last year. When I arrived this year I was greeted by Nouhaida. She left me in the care of Basma who accompanied me on a journey through different "Zones" representing the cuisine of different regions of the country. We stopped to learn about bread with Fatima and the tea service before journeying on to my cooking class led by Chef Bedal. Basma provided translation when needed.
They have a variety of cooking tracks. I took the Chicken Tagine w/salads and dessert course. Upon completion my creations were whisked away to the restaurant where they set the table for me to eat the meal I cooked. We made a stop on the roof to bake some bread with Fatima in the stone oven. I cannot say enough good things about everyone who was part of my experience - from the welcoming by Nouhaida, to Basma, Bedal and Fatima and the servers in the restaurant. I left with recipes and my own personal Tagine. This will be a regular stop whenever I am in Marrakech. The cooking stations and prep are clean and individually prepped.

Best DIY lunch!
This was a fabulous way to spend a morning and lunch in Marrakesh. Basma and all her colleagues are wonderful and really knowledgeable hosts. The Museum is fascinating and learning about traditional bread-making and the proper way to make Mint tea are just the start. We then explored cooking with Moroccan spices through creating our own chicken tajine and two salads. The ingredients were so fresh and results were delicious. We ate them as group with the wonderful flat bread we had seen being prepared earlier. This was rounded off with a fantastic pudding created by our hosts. This is an exceptional experience.

A rather poor, over-priced entertainment exercise rather than a serious cooking class
Very disappointing. Their "tour" consists of just reading the labels on the pictures - the lady with great english has no idea of how to make the dishes, quantities, cooking times and we didnt believe all of here ingredients. That all takes an hour. The cooking course is in a beautifully equipped room, and the moroccan chef is good. But the thing is ruined by useless chit chat in a patronising tone as if the customers are idiots when it comes to cooking. But instead of being told how to make their dishes back home....for pickled lemons we cant buy at home we were told to buy them, put in salt water and keep for 30 days in a dark place (who is going to do that for a tagine, and some fresh lemon and salt would be an ok substitution, but not suggested); for pastilla, which is why I joined the course, we were told that the pastry is very difficult to make and so you should buy it; again, we cannot buy pastilla pastry at home which is why I went. The salads were OK, but not exceptional, and frankly chicken tagine is about as boring as Moroccan cooking gets. Overall it is a rather patronising and simple cooking experience, and really more for bored tourists who want to fill up an entertaining morning, at a high price, rather than anyone who wants a serious introduction to Moroccan cooking and some good cooking tips. Maybe all of this would have been ok for 250 Dirhams in a shop; but not for 560 Dirhams in a place showing itself off as a museum.
