Após 1h de viagem na rodovia, embarque no trem de cremalheira até a montanha e aprecie as vistas incríveis da área. Admire a morfologia peculiar da montanha, que vem das palavras catalãs Mont (montanha) e Serrat (serrilhada). Mundialmente famosa por sua geografia rochosa, a bela paisagem de Montserrat foi declarada Parque Nacional em 1987 para proteger sua riqueza natural e cultural.

Cog wheel train is one way (up). Bus takes you back down. Sit on left side of train for best views. Tour lived up to its description. Saw the black Madonna, walked the monastery grounds and did some wine tasting. Make sure to save room for the farmers market at the end of the road. The catalan cheese (think ricotta) with honey is to die for!
Great experience to see the Montserrat monastery and basilica including the black Madonna. The only thing I would say is there was too much free time for our liking. Made the day a bit long. The tour guide was good but at times couldn’t hear him over the bus noise. The driver had terrible body odour when we got on the bus making us feel sick. We sat further down the bus. Luckily he may have realised and that was not a problem on the way back
Today, June 24th at 2:00 PM, at the Julia Travel agency, Estació del Nord, we departed punctually towards Montserrat. We felt very connected with the Star Guide Iván and the bus driver, Mr. Alejandro. The Guide, with charisma and mastery of the History of Montserrat, explained everything in a way that we all understood, and his attention and service to us, who came from Panama to learn about this grand history and to meet the Virgin, were exceptional. The Guide indicated where to board, where to buy souvenirs, and provided us with some coupons to taste liquors and sweets. The bus driver drove cautiously, and we had a trip without setbacks, everything was very punctual. I congratulate both of you for the team you form and for making our experience something unforgettable! From the brothers in Panama, we recommend them for any tour in Spain, especially in Barcelona!
The experience was overall ok. A big positive was the organization of the tour. We also were able to see everything promised. But, there were several negatives as well. Our tour guide was very nice and knowledgeable. However, she was expected to state everything in English and then Spanish. This resulted in two times the amount of talking. We didn’t have enough free time to hike as a result. Also, several very young children screaming on the bus made the rides terrible. This isn’t the tour company’s fault but still affected our experience overall.
Jose was a great guide!!! Very informative while still leaving time to explore on our own. Getting to the meet-up spot was a bit difficult but was figured out in time.
Well organised trip to see Montserrat. Cog wheel train was a great experience. Coach and driver were very good. Lorena was a great guide and very passionate about the place and Barcelona. Free time at Montserrat was good and the organised tour part was informative. Only downside is having everything explained in both Spanish & English means some waiting around whilst everything is covered. It would be preferable if the tours were separated into language groups.
It was just breathtaking. going up the mountain by Cog-Train was incredible. The history and stories told by Laraine our guide from Julia Travel, were inspiring and knowledgeable. She did a great job, and it was a wonderful day.
We did the short tour to Montserrat with cog wheel train and Black Madonna through Julia Travel which was 5.5 hours, 8:00am to 1:30pm. It’s good for the Monastery, Basilica and gift shop with liquor tasting. It was well organized, timely and had a nice tour bus. It is not a fully guided tour with commentary but it’s a pleasant half day trip up into the mountains with beautiful scenery. There are longer full day tours if you want to spend more time there, hiking to lookout points or doing the cable car further up the mountain.
