Niko(las) was an amazing tour guide. He was so passionate about Croatia and he genuinely cared for everyone on the tour and their experience. We had a slight issue with some of the group being on time which brought the mood down for those who were on time. Niko was a consummate employee throughout our wait and handled it like an absolute pro. I’d rate him 10 stars if I could. We learned so much and had a blast. I highly recommend this tour!
The pickup location was changed with only a Viator app message the day before, which caused me to spend my entire morning running around Dubrovnik Old Town trying to catch the bus, even though I arrived on time at the original pickup point provided in my booking confirmation. The guide also seemed more interested in pushing optional activities than giving passengers a choice. He rushed everyone into taking the Our Lady of the Rocks boat tour without properly explaining the timing or duration, discouraged people who wanted to explore Perast on their own, and steered everyone toward a specific boat operator. The same happened with lunch, where he strongly promoted a "traditional" restaurant using a free dessert and welcome drink as an incentive. It felt more like a sales pitch than a guided tour, and passengers should have been free to choose how to spend their time.
Overall, the trip was good. Perast and Kotor are absolutely beautiful towns, and definitely worth visiting. Our guide was friendly and gave clear instructions throughout the day. However, it sometimes felt like he was trying to scare us a bit about the police and the border control. When we arrived in Perast, we also felt a bit misled about the boat trip to Our Lady of the Rocks. Before we fully understood what was happening, we were asked to pay €15 per person, including the church entrance. We only spent about 20 minutes there. It was a beautiful place, but in our opinion it wasn’t worth the price. The guide should have made it clear that the boat trip was optional and explained the cost beforehand. The guide was also very enthusiastic about recommending places that felt like tourist traps, including a restaurant famous for its almond cake and Montenegrin food. Once we reached Kotor Old Town, we found several restaurants with much larger menus, and the prices were nowhere near three times higher as the guide had claimed. Unfortunately, some adults simply couldn’t behave. A large group of people on our bus was incredibly disrespectful—they either slept through important information or kept everyone waiting. At one point, we had to wait an entire hour for late passengers. So on the way back, we had to wait an hour for the group that couldn't behave. To be honest, we enjoyed watching the drama more than the trip itself. If I were to do it again, I would definitely rent a car and visit Montenegro on my own. The destinations themselves were wonderful, but the overall experience with the organized tour was disappointing.
This was an amazing trip to Montenegro. Niko was an excellent guide and very informative, and handled everything very professionally. Would definitely recommend this tour.
Niko was a great guide! Very informative and helpful. We had the best almond cake at Perast! The whole process was very smooth from the pick up, to the stops, and the drop off. We visited Perast and Kotor. All the cats in Kotor were so cute!
The tour was fantastic, should beautiful coast line and so much amazing history. Our guide Nicok was amazing and gave our group of three extra support for one of our travellers when we requested it he was very respectful, charming and he has great knowledge to share.
Great trip! The coach pick up from Debrovnik was smooth and easy. The coach journey was interesting, we learnt a lot of facts along the way. The stops in Montenegro were beautiful and the guide Nikolas was really lovely and helpful.
