I loved this tour! It was extremely refreshing to get out of Athens and out into the lovely Attica countryside, and it was a pleasant surprise that the historical places we visited were not touristy at all. At one point my family and I had an entire museum to ourselves! Our guide Stelios was extremely nice and knowledgeable. He was also very flexible in terms of our itinerary, as we'd already visited the Stadium in Athens and he offered suggestions for things to do as an alternative, even taking us to a nearly 6,000-year-old burial ground. As a teacher of Ancient Greek history and mythology, I really enjoyed chatting with him about the stories I've studied and taught. I would definitely tour with him again the next time I'm in Athens!
Giorgos was an excellent guide! My husband and I spent an enjoyable half day experiencing the rich history of the marathon and visiting the sites with his guidance. Booking confirmations were prompt and professionally communicated. Would highly recommend, and would book with him again!

He picked us up on time, gave us plenty of time at each of our stops, and was flexible with our itinerary - letting us drop a planned stop and add an unplanned stop.

A wonderful 6 hour, fully customizable private tour with our driver Eirini. She picked us up at the cruise port exactly on time and took us to see only the parts of Marathon and the Marathon course that interested us. Eirini was a terrific guide. We went to the Marathon start line, the Running museum, the Olympic stadium where the marathon finishes, and stopped at the Athens library to see the winners cup from the first actual Athens Marathon. We then were dropped at a beautiful seaside tavern for a delicious lunch before being dropped at the airport for our evening flight out. A great way to spend the day and Eirini is a great person to get to know. Highly recommended.

We booked a tour with Giorgos during our stay in Athens, and it was one of the highlights of our trip. He picked us up right where we were staying in the city and drove us to Marathon, making the whole experience seamless and stress-free. Our day began with a stop at a wonderful local coffee shop, where he treated us to coffee and snacks—an unexpected but much-appreciated gesture that set the perfect tone for the rest of the tour. From there, he guided us through an incredible journey: visiting the Marathon Lake and Dam, the Marathon Running Museum, the Battle of Marathon Museum, and finally, the very plain where the legendary battle took place. At each stop, he shared fascinating history and context that really enriched our understanding and made the sites come alive. He was communicative, punctual, friendly, and attentive throughout, making us feel both comfortable and informed. We truly enjoyed our time with him and highly recommend this tour to anyone wanting to experience the history and spirit of Marathon in a personal and meaningful way.
