I highly recommended a day trip to Maria Island. I bought the shuttle bus ticket to Triabunna ferry terminal & the Maria Island ferry & National park pass separately so I can explore on my own. The shuttle bus ride is about 1,5hr, convenient, they drop you off at Triabunna, the ferry ride is only 30mnt. I noticed that the Island does not have proper signage for Painted Cliff but they do for other point of interest in the Island. The only sign of Painted Cliff is 500meters before you reach it 😆 It is quite a distance & a bit hilly before you reach the cliff. You’ll need walking shoes, water & food before you get to Maria Island, the 2 delis that are open have mediocre food, your last option would be getting sandwiches on the boat. Painted Cliff is always crowded, if you are on a tour, you have limited time to take pics, I had to wait quite a while for my turn to take pics. Although the walk to the cliff is boring but once you see Painted Cliff, you’ll realize it’s worth your while, it’s highly recommended. Again, always check with local tour operator thru the Viator’s app because Viator often gave wrong pick up location

Perfect transport to the ferry and very friendly and competent driver. Sit back, relax, and take in the landscape. A great no hassle way to get to the ferry.

Got us to the ferry and back to the city without any issues. Departed on time. Bus was in good condition and clean. Seats weren't super comfortable but good enough for the trip.

The girl driver arrived at the pickup near pier on time and shuttle bus trip is smooth. That's exactly what you need to maria island if you don't have a car!

Great trip. Excellent service. The coach driver is friendly and helpful. She volunteered to look out for us for our return trip.
We did the Maria Island and Ile Des Phoques day trip with pick up from Hobart and it was an highlight of our trip to Tasmania - the photos of ile Des Phoques do not do it justice. Everything ran to time, including hotel pick up and drop off back at the airport, food was fantastic quality and all communications with the team prior to the day were answered in a timely manner. Michael’s passion for what he does was abundantly evident. There was nothing I could suggest to improve the tour.

The driver was a great company and she helped us with everything. If you don’t have a car you should choose this shuttle service for sure. :)
The pick up from Hobart was a great start to a wonderful day of seal, dolphin, bird, kangaroo, pademelon and wombat (lots of wombats) spotting. Maria Island is rugged and brooding, beautiful and fascinating all at once. The former convict settlement really interesting but the highlight for me was the exploration of the stunning sea caves of both Maria Island and Ile des Poques. An amazing day with delightful and accommodating hosts.
Pick up and drop off time is prompt. Convenient service to and from Triabunna. Driver seems to be friendly to certain nationalities only. Didnt even asked where we can be dropped off on return to the city.

Our shuttle bus provides our guests the service (to and from Triabunna) who are either booked on our Cruise + Walk Day Tour or guests who are connecting to the Maria Island Ferry (a separate company). Our day tour guests are offered a hotel pickup and drop off service. Our ferry connecting guests meet our bus in two central locations in Hobart. On some occasions we are able to drop all guests to their hotels at the end of the day if the shuttle is not fully booked, but this is not the usual service offered. I can assure you that all of our employees dearly love every visitor, from every corner of the planet and we only wish visitors the very best holidays in Tasmania. We have been operating 5-star tourism for a long time to Maria Island and would never prejudice a guest in our business. If this occurred to you, it is important that we understand what happened on this day. Please reach out to us so we can share in your experience to better understand the circumstance.
