The village experience was excellent. The guide knew quite a bit about the history culture and everything was well organized. The village is quite and it’s in a beautiful location. This staff were very friendly.
It sounds like it will be very touristy and a little cheesy but it was great learning about the tribes and their customs while trying different food, drink or blow darts (which sold my husband on this morning activity). A great time spent!
Some of the houses are accessed by uneven steps. Plenty of walking including slight uphill. The guides are very knowledgeable. A fantastic fun day out with lots of surprises.
It was an interesting place to visit but it was very busy so we didn’t really get a chance to fully explore the history. Moved quite quickly through the various “villages”.
WOW!! I absolutely loved this experience. I booked direct with the Mari Mari Cultural Village and arranged them to pick me up and drop me off at the hotel. It is a bit like a living museum in that they have 5 main types of house set up representing 5 of the main tribes in Sabah. Tom, our guide was so good - deep knowledge of the tribes and a good sense of humour. The history, traditions and home life of the tribes was so interesting and to be honest I could have listened for days to learn more. The ' tour' ends with a stunning range of dances traditional to each tribe and performed for different reasons. Then they provide a buffet lunch, which is very good. Took too many photos but without the words/ information they may mean nothing. This trip is a MUST
Very interesting. Very good value for money. Interesting taste experience. Well managed flow despite the world
Plan for rainy weather. While rain was the most difficult, it actually improved the true feeling of life in the jungle.
Learnt a lot of history and culture about Malaysia in this tour. The tour was very entertaining as well as fun, our tour guide Benedict (Ben) was great at explaining everything in detail with a lot of humor. Great guide and experience, the food was actually pretty good and we got to try a lot traditional foods. Very recommended
It was a great experience to learn about the four tribes and their lifestyles. The cultural performance was awesome! The food was great as well.
Really nice people, we learnt a lot and they have a well structured tour. You can try different foods and beverage from each tribe
