Chef Giacomo gave our family such a wonderful and memorable experience! One of our teenage daughters has celiac so I was excited to find a cooking class that could provide a safe and gluten free experience for all of us. We learned how to make a traditional Tuscan meal, including GF pasta! For whatever reason we ended up being the only family that night, and we were in one of their other catering locations in the Otralno area, and it was magical to eat outdoors beside their beautiful garden where they grow many of their herbs and vegetables. Chef Giacomo was fun, friendly, and helpful, and I know we will make these recipes again!

In our shared classes, we follow a set menu so that all guests can cook together and enjoy a smooth experience. That said, whenever requests are communicated before hand, reasonable and compatible with the logistics of a shared class setting, we do our best to accommodate individual preferences and dietary needs. For guests seeking complete flexibility, we also offer private classes where menus can be customized entirely around personal tastes and interests. My husband James and I enjoyed our MaMa Florence Cooking Class with Giacomo and the preceeding guided tour of il Mercato Centrale Firenze (Central Market) with Yenna Braswell. Exceptional local American guide speaking multiple languages. The cooking class was outstanding!! We felt warmly welcomed and truly entertained by Giacomo with his humor and individual attention to each guest in our group. The flourishing gardens and 300 year old Olive tree orchard made for an ideal setting. We rate this 10/5 and hope to return for a new class on our next visit to most inspiring Firenze! Highly recommend for any newbie to chopping and stirring or foodie alike. Spectacular experience.

Our 22-year-old daughter found this online, and since we are a GF family and our daughters love to bake and cook, we were looking for an authentic Tuscan experience while in Florence. THIS WAS IT! The place is so charming. It’s a beautiful old-yet-renovated building nestled into a fun Florence neighborhood. The setting is seriously perfect and makes you feel like you’re in a movie! Chef Stefano Massoti was wonderful, and we were amazed that the meal we made with him ended up being the best meal we’ve had since arriving in Italy a week ago. Luwana, who helped with everything all evening alongside Chef Stefano, was absolutely delightful! She taught us so much about the culture—things you would only learn from talking to a born-and-raised local. The food, ambience, and entire experience were unforgettable. We would highly recommend this to anyone visiting Florence, especially families or groups looking for a truly authentic and memorable Tuscan experience.

Had a great time at MaMa Florence. Chef Giacomo and Teresa were so lovely blending knowledge, humor and kindness into a unique cooking experience. We made a gorgeous salad, two types of homemade pasta, and panna cotta for dessert paired with Prosecco, a white and red wine. Our senses (and stomaches) were absolutely satiated with the beautiful colors and aromas and we left MaMa Florence inspired to make homemade pasta at home. Highly recommend.

So happy to find a gluten-free cooking class in Italy! A solid 3 hours of cooking, companionship and fun in a gluten free, safe environment. Chefs were top notch, experienced and knowledgeable about celiac issues. Evening cumulated in a long table meal with our creations and accompanying wine selections.
