My wife and I found Journey to Egypt online, and quick and quality communication by Osama, managing director, helped us make our decision to go with them as our operator. John, our expert guide at all stops, was thorough and well-prepared for each stop, making our trip and sightseeing stress-free and comfortable. We sailed on the Blue Shadow 2 and were grateful to receive a complimentary upgrade to a spacious and well-equipped Royal Suite. The meals on board were plentiful and delicious. The sun deck on top was relaxing and peaceful. The staff is well-trained, friendly, and eager to please. We slept soundly, enjoyed the half-days of travel with rest, and saw the best sites between Luxor and Aswan. Journey to Egypt and the Blue Shadow 2 are highly encouraged for a quality Nile experience.

Had a once in a lifetime trip to Egypt with a 4 night Nile cruise. This was my first time on a cruise and exceeded every expectation. The cruise covers all admission fees and transportation to excursions. (Hot air balloon, Abu Simbel and Nubian village are optional add ons for an extra charge) I highly recommend the hot air balloon ride and Abu Simbel. Both require an early wake up but are so worth it. Atmosphere on the cruise was exceptional. I would estimate about 50-60 passengers. Staff was wonderful and some of the best I have experienced when traveling. A cruise like this is best for anyone that is physically able to do so. I did this solo and had a great time. All of my tours were private. The guides were extremely knowledgeable and friendly especially Melad in Aswan and John in Luxor.

We took a Nile cruise with the dahabiya organized by Journey to Egypt and it was a simply perfect experience. The organization was impeccable in every detail, with customer service always attentive and helpful. The boat was beautiful, well-kept, elegant and very comfortable, ideal for those seeking a more intimate and authentic experience, away from large cruise ships. But the real added value was George, our guide: prepared, passionate, helpful and always attentive to every need. Thanks to him we experienced Egypt in a profound and engaging way. I had a great time on this tour - so glad we went with Journey2Egypt. Great value for money and our tour guide John was amazing! I travelled with a friend so we had our own private tour guide, which I was not expecting. John was extremely knowledgeable about the history and the sites, and we had plenty of free time to explore. John went out of his way to make us feel comfortable and safe - making sure we were always stocked with water and snacks. The ship itself was lovely, and the staff were very friendly and helpful. Food was plentiful & the party nights were a lot of fun. We traveled over the Easter break and there was a heat wave (over 40 degrees most days) but we were able to do the sightseeing early and be back on the air conditioned ship before lunchtime most days. Would definitely recommend this cruise!

The cruise was very good - rooms were clean and spacious, food was excellent, drink prices reasonable. Only quibbles were that the pool deck bar was hardly ever staffed and bar tenders didn’t seem knowledgeable enough to make decent cocktails. Tour guide was all we could have hoped for. Transfer arrangements worked well. I would use this company again, although they could do with improving their pre-trip communication.

It was a great experience! It was well organized and our tour guide, Mena, thought of everything! He even had small bills for us to use the WC! The Princess Sarah was first rate and the staff and food was first rate. Mena really knew his stuff. We learned so much! He made it an easy trek in spite of the heat; the driver with the air conditioned vehicle was always there. I highly recommend!

This is the best tour we have ever been on! We are still in awe over the entire experience :) From the minute we landed and were picked up at the airport by our guide John, we felt completely and utterly spoilt and were able to instantly relax and enjoy our adventure as it was clear that everything had been so thoroughly taken care of. The cruise ship (Steigenberger REGENCY) that we were sailing on had everything you could possibly want - a peaceful evironment with many areas to chill (the rooftop & pool were our favourite!) and clean and spacious rooms, delicious food plus a lovely, friendly, attentive staff. We love to explore and travel but there is no way we would have ever been able to make such an incredible itinerary fit into 5 days on our own and travelling down the nile by boat was the perfect way to see as much as possible. Along with this being a once in a life time trip, our guide John made it 10000 times better than we could have ever dreamed of! The tour itself was unlike anything else we had experienced before - we were plesently surprised and excited when we realised how intimate the guiding was going to be. It was a private tour, so there was no giant coaches, rushing site to site and waiting on other strangers. Instead, the tour was much more flexible and we had a lot more freedom to personalise the itinerary. John's knowledge of all the sites and history was impeccable and we were able to ask as many questions as possible. It was also really nice to get to know John as a local Luxor resident, and we felt like he added a personal insight to Egypt that was invaluable and something we wouldn't get on all tours. We used Journey to Egypt for our transfer from Hurghada to Luxor and during our cruise from Luxor to Aswan. We had one large van for a family of six ranging in age from 8 to 75. Our driver was excellent and the van very clean and new. From the time they picked us up at the Hurghada airport until they dropped us off in the Aswan airport we felt extremely well cared for. The team insured coordination with the cruise was seamless and we never had to worry about arranging meals, water, or anything. Our tour guide John was extremely knowledgeable, his English impeccable, and his kindness was clear in all of his engagement with us. He consistently ensured we had enough water, helped us find medicine when a member of our party was ill, and guided us through busy markets with care. When we did want to shove, John took us to local artisans so we could support local businesses and leave Egypt with beautiful momentoes. He also spoke with our two young boys with patience and interesting information, ensuring all members of our group were engaged. All aspects of our time in Egypt felt safe and we recommend everyone considering travel there to do so and support small businesses like this one!
