Vistas deslumbrantes do cânion de Rakitnica, paisagens incríveis da montanha de Bjelasnica, experiência de vida na aldeia nômade mais remota da Bósnia, história e cultura únicas das comunidades locais e um pouco da mitologia e muito mais em um dos lugares mais exclusivos da Bósnia e Herzegovina.

Itinerário
Estamos passando pelas famosas trilhas de esqui olímpico de inverno de 1984 na montanha Bjelašnica.
Aprenderemos a história de por que a mesquita Umoljani foi a única mesquita que não foi queimada ou destruída pelo Exército da República de Srpska, em todo o território da Bósnia e Herzegovina que eles controlavam durante a agressão de 1992 a 1995 na Bósnia e Herzegovina.
Agradável caminhada de 3 horas até a vila de Umoljani através do rio Canyong de Rakitnica e incríveis explorações da cachoeira Peruce, Studeni Potok como um dos vales mais bonitos de toda a Bósnia e Herzegovina e história do "Umoljani Dragon". No final do dia, faremos cerca de 7-8 horas de caminhada, o que certamente valerá a pena. A vila de Umoljani é conhecida principalmente por algumas coisas: Dragão Apedrejado, Mesquita e Hagadá de Sarajevo e Studeni Potok (Riacho Frio). Quando chegarmos a Umoljani, prepare-se novamente para um almoço local realmente incrível: Begova Corba (cozido local), Krompiruša (batata feita) ou Sirnica (queijo feito) e Burek (carne feita), com iogurte e salat. Nada no mundo bate isso.
Quando deixamos nosso carro na aldeia de Umoljani, começaremos nossa primeira caminhada de 3 a 4 horas para chegar à aldeia de Lukomir. A trilha nos levará do ponto de partida de cerca de 1275 metros (Umoljani) até o pico de Obalj a cerca de 1896 metros, com mais de 620 metros de altitude. Todo esse trabalho pesado vai pagar uma vez no topo, como vistas de Studeni Potok ao longo do caminho, Rakitnica Canyon e montanhas de Treskavica, Visocica e pico final da montanha Bjelasnica com inúmeras pequenas aldeias a distância será simplesmente deslumbrante. Depois de algum descanso e prazer de corpo e espírito em tempo integral, estamos prontos para caminhar até a vila de Lukomir, a uma altitude de 1500, que será uma história "única". Uma vez lá, vamos para um tempo de descanso merecido, com café local, e um pouco de comida também.Por favor, note que dependendo da época do ano podemos ter sorte de ter campos de bluberries, rose-quadril, certos tipos de cogumelos, tomilho ou outras espécies de plantas ao nosso redor livres para pegar. Lukomir é a mais alta e a maior parte do ano habitada (exceto nos últimos anos, durante a estação de inverno pesado, quando os locais deixam a aldeia até o início da primavera) e a maioria da aldeia nômade isolada na Bósnia e Herzegovina.
Parte da caminhada será através do incrível Studeni Potok (Cold Creek) na montanha Bjelašnica.

Brilliant day of trekking. Lots of ground covered. No ropes required! Can't believe our guide Kenin, who was excellent btw, is only 46 years old!!! Highly recommend this trip. Contact the provider for specifics- really helpful
This hike was incredible. It was very challenging, especially the first half, because you are climbing straight up a mountain to the summit and then down the other side, but the views.. oh, the views! The village of Lukomir was really cool to experience as well, and we had a fantastic lunch made by one of the locals with local ingredients. This is probably my favorite thing we’ve ever done on vacation. Book this tour!
This was a great fun and challenging hike, we went to the top of the mountain above Lukomir! The photos I got were crazy good!!! If your fitness is good, you should do it!
Pictures just won’t do justice! I have always wanted to go up to Lukomir after my first trip to Bosnia in 2019. Sadly I never had gotten to visit Lukomir in 2021. But in life we must be grateful with the experiences we get. The downs always make you look forward to coming back and making sure that you do it and I did it! I finally got the chance to get some good hiking experience in. This will help me with future hikes on different peaks. I loved Lukomir, it so much resembled the village of Theth in Albania, where semi nomads live high up in altitude, like agro tourism. It gives us a sense of how certain tribes and families lived up in the mountains during the past. Tariq was a decent guide in that he explained a little about the lifestyle of these nomadic groups and how long they were living up in the mountains. Tariq also helped us by giving us hiking tips to Obalj- a steep hill climb after a heavy lunch and quicker decent back down through rocky terrain- much helpful to me in future hikes. I enjoyed the company of another British family visiting bosnia and learnt a lot from them as they were interested in the former Yugoslavia and they’re son was into the outdoors just like me. The driver also joined us on the hike and made sure we do not get lost on trail. Overall a good way to end the trip.
We have just completed the hiking tour to Lukomir village and I can highly recommend it if you want to see and understand the traditional Bosnian culture and see some amazing scenery then this is a great trip. It is a challenging hike but we had an excellent guide and felt we were in safe hand. During the hike you stop at one breathtaking view after another the scenery is truly amazing. The Lukomir village is not undiscovered but was a lovely place for a lunch stop of good traditional food. If you are looking for tours whilst in Bosnia then book with Funky Tours as in my experience then you couldn’t be in safety hands.

The hike to Lukomir is more difficult than stated. Sturdy hiking boots and poles are helpful. If you are an inexperienced hiker this may not be the trip for you. If you are, you will see the most gorgeous views. Our guide Harm was a delight and our group bonded over the hours together. We never made it to the back 9 km of the hike because it took hours to do the first 10 km. With that said, I am delighted to have done the hike and would recommend it only to people that understand that the hike is physically grueling at times. Also thought we were having lunch with the Nomads and would learn about their customs. This was not the case we ate at their restaurant. They could not have been more gracious.
We booked onto the 1 day trip to Lukomir with pick up and return to Sarajevo. Communication from both Edna and Ema prior to the trip was efficient and speedy. Our guide Elvira was spot on time for the pick up and we had a great trip. It turned out to be only myself and my brother on the tour (we did a Monday). The drive to the start point of the walk was only around 1 hour from Sarajevo, so not far at all. The walk was around 10 miles there and back. A great walk, not too challenging but more than enough to feel as though you've done a good days exercise! The views were spectacular. Elvira was a good guide and gave us some local history along the way and was very friendly. It was handy having lunch included in Lukomir. It was also a nice touch to receive a follow up email from Amela a couple of days later to check how we'd enjoyed the trip. Throughout the whole process, communication from the team was efficient and they seemed very passionate about providing a good & memorable experience for their guests. We did 2 weeks touring the country independently and were seriously impressed with what we found. Bosnia and Herzegovina has a great deal to offer from a tourism point of view, and if you're in Sarajevo - be sure to book an extra day and take this tour!

I did hiking to Lukomir with Funky tour and it was the best hiking tour ever! I cannot recommend Funky Tours enough, because these guys are simply the best. Started from very welcoming communications with Edna (who was extremely nice, helpful and friendly) and of course the best tour guides: Tarik and Stefan.
