Terrific!

Paul was terrific, very informative, the tour was well planned, it was HOT, so try to avoid June, July and September. He gave us enough time to walk around and was pretty funny.

Amazing day trip with so much to see

Towns were amazing!! Itinerary was packed but got so much beauty in. Always wanted more time at each town but there was never enough time. our guide was nice but lacked sharing details and history.

A great introduction to several villages each with a different character without the stress of driving

An excellent way to visit several villages in the Luberon without having to drive - on the day we went on the tour we went to Fontaine de Vaclause, Gordes (it was market day) Roussillon and Lourmarin. The guide gave us lots of information as we travelled and some recommendations of what to see when we arrived in each place. We had at least an hour in each place - and the guide went out of her way to stop and show us some extra things on route including one of the first fields of Lavendin to bloom. Her enthusiasm and love the region really came across and we felt safe as she navigated the tricky roads and busy village centres.

NOT as advertised!

This tour was advertised as having 8 participants maximum, but our tour had 14! Squeezed into a very uncomfortable minivan with no air conditioning on a 90 degree day. The worst travel experience ever.

Resposta do operador

Dear Susan, all vehicles are FULLY AIR CONDITIONED. This day was particularly hot so when we stop the van needs time to cool again, in France is forbidden to leave engine on while van is parked. Since many years this tour is advertised to have maximum 16 people. You bought the tour at the Tourist Office, and by mistake they told you maximum 8 people, so we understand your frustration. Tourist Office is responsible for the mistake, we clearly explained you the issue. It is written very clearly in all contracts, about the maximum being 16 people. We cannot be responsible for tickets sold incorrectly by partners. It is your right to complain with the person that gave you incorrect information and the partner that sold you the ticket, and we are by your side if you need us. Nobody else complained about it neither in your tour, nor in many years this tour is running. The only action we can take is to contact the Tourist Office. All the best, Silvio (bonjour provence)

Loved it! Highly recommend

Had a really wonderful time and it was super neat seeing all the villages. I really enjoyed doing the yellow red rock hike, shopping at one of the markets and having a nice lunch. All in all this was a really spectacular way to see a few villages.

What a Perfect Day

Our guide and driver, Paul, gave us all a very friendly welcome and so a group of strangers quickly became friends. Our day long outing was perfectly paced, with plenty of time in each place we visited to explore on our own or be shown the sights. Paul’s immense knowledge of and deep love for the region were immediately evident. He took us first to the beautiful village of Lourmarin which was just coming to life at the start of the day, and which we walked around as a group. With its old houses and shops, church and castle, it was the essence of old Provence. Then on to Roussillon with its famous red ochre soil and bustling market, with all the provisions for an impromptu lunch. We had plenty of time to explore on our own; the hilltop church was a particular joy to see, at the top of winding streets. Then to Gordes, with a quick stop on the approach road for photos of the iconic view of this famous hilltop village. Again, plenty of time to explore this amazing place: another imposing castle and beautiful church, steep streets tumbling downhill, and a scenic square to sit in and enjoy a lavender ice cream. Our final stop was Fontaine-de-Vaucluse, at the source of the river Sorgue where it rose from within a deep limestone cave. Again, Paul dropped us off in the centre of the village, signposting us to the many notable sights. Some of us walked upstream along the river as far as the path allowed, marvelling at the perfectly clear turquoise water, several waterfalls and the drama of the limestone gorge. On the journey back to Aix-en-Provence, Paul pointed out lavender fields and famous vineyards amongst other interesting features, and we arrived promptly back on schedule. The minibus was comfortably air-conditioned; we were taken to places we would never have discovered by ourselves. The trip was the highlight of our holiday!
