O histórico Liwa Oasis fica no extremo norte de Rub 'Al Khali (o bairro vazio) - o maior deserto ininterrupto do mundo. O Liwa Oasis se beneficia de um lençol freático que fica próximo à superfície e que tem sustentado a agricultura e a pecuária por gerações. Isso cria um contraste dramático na paisagem entre os bosques de tamareiras verdes e altas dunas de areia vermelho-alaranjadas. The Liwa desert was amazing – endless dunes and really peaceful. The 4x4 dune bashing was fun, and the stops for photos and the oasis made it feel like a proper escape from the city. It’s a long day, but worth it if you want to see the real desert.
Once the dunes appeared, especially Moreeb dune that golden light, rolling sand, quiet sky...it felt like stepping into another world. Just plan for a long day, travel prepared, and let yourself slow down when you can.

The dune bashing experience was wild and thrilling! Our driver was skilled and made the whole ride feel like a rollercoaster — up and down the towering dunes with the sand spraying across the windows. I couldn’t stop laughing (and screaming a little!). It was the perfect balance of adrenaline and awe. One of the best parts of the day was stopping at the top of one of the highest dunes and just… being silent. No cars, no noise, just the wind and the sheer vastness of the desert. I don’t think I’ve ever felt so small and so peaceful at the same time.
