Prepare-se para descobrir uma das áreas mais interessantes de Lisboa, o bairro de Belém, que está diretamente associado às épicas navegações portuguesas, dos séculos XV e XVI. Você visitará o Mosteiro de Jerónimos e sua Igreja, conhecida como uma obra-prima da arquitetura Português. Você também passará pelo Monumento às Descobertas, que foi erguido em 1960 e onde alguns dos personagens mais importantes da era da Grande Navegação são representados. Terminamos o nosso passeio pela Torre Belém (apenas no exterior) um ponto defensivo contra os invasores que tentam chegar à capital do reino, Lisboa.

A visita começa no Claustro Superior, de onde você pode ter vistas espetaculares de toda a beleza arquitetônica ali contida. Detalharemos os significados por trás desta construção, o que ela representava para a sociedade da época e sua importância no contexto das Grandes Navegações Portuguesas, realizadas ao longo dos séculos XV e XVI. Na parte inferior do Claustro você terá acesso a espaços importantes, como a Sala do Capítulo, o antigo Refeitório e o túmulo de Fernando Pessoa, transferido para este espaço na primeira metade do século XX. Você também visitará a igreja do complexo, um edifício majestoso, símbolo do auge da arquitetura manuelina, estilo arquitetônico que se desenvolveu em Portugal no início do século XVI e que associava estruturas do gótico tardio a elementos renascentistas
O original pastel de nata. Esta antiga receita foi criada pelos monges do Mosteiro de Jerónimos e foi vendida no mesmo estabelecimento desde meados do século XIX.
Construído para a Exposição do Mundo Português em 1940, é constituído por um jardim com um conjunto de 32 brasões que remetem às antigas províncias do Império Português
Este monumento foi construído em 1960, em comemoração aos 500 anos da morte do Infante D. Henrique, conhecido como a principal figura das navegações portuguesas. Lá também estão representados outros personagens importantes da era das Grandes Navegações que contribuíram para a expansão da cultura portuguesa pelo mundo.
Outro grande exemplo da arquitetura manuelina e serviu como ponto de defesa contra invasores que tentavam chegar à capital do reino, Lisboa. É considerado Patrimônio Mundial, atribuído pela Unesco

It was a wonderful experience. Miguel was a history buff who knows everything there is to know about what he was showing us. He did everything off the top of his head with no notes. The line for the monastery was very long. The cut-the-line benefit was huge. I would highly recommend this.
Miguel did an outstanding job of setting the historical, cultural, and theological underpinnings of Portugal’s many fascinating centuries of exploration and governmental transformation. He also excelled at explaining the aesthetics of the monastery and other monuments!

Luis provided a thorough and entertaining tour. His descriptions of the sights gave us context beyond mere architectural details. He readily answered all questions. He was very articulate and likeable.
My husband and I brought our parents on a trip to Lisbon, and visiting Jerónimos Monastery was at the top of my mom’s list, so I booked this Belém tour for our family. Our guide, Federico, was exceptional. He was incredibly knowledgeable about Belém, Portuguese history, and the monastery, and he explained everything in a way that was detailed but still engaging and easy to follow. He was genuinely one of the best tour guides we have ever had. The tour included Jerónimos Monastery, Pastéis de Belém, the Monument to the Discoveries, and Belém Tower, although we viewed the tower from the outside rather than entering. One of the biggest advantages was being able to skip the very long line at the monastery, which made a huge difference in the July heat. I highly recommend this tour to anyone who wants to see Belém’s major landmarks while also gaining a much deeper understanding of their history. It was especially well suited for a family group with different ages and interests.
