I spent a day in Budapest, and this was the highlight of my trip. I don’t speak Magyar (Hungarian), and get very confused navigating public transport in countries where I don’t speak the language. This activity required no thinking on my end. Szabolcs picked me up right on time at the location I chose. He then transported me in a very comfortable vehicle to the palace. Along the way, he was very receptive to my multitude of questions about Hungarian history and culture. He is passionate about Hungary and was only too enthusiastic to teach me more about Budapest. The palace of Godollo was beautiful. I was expecting it to be just another Hofburg or Schonbrun. Nope! Sissi (Empress Elizabeth) really made this place her own, and you can see all of her charm in the soft blue snd purple colors throughout the palace. Szabolcs allowed me to enjoy the tour at my leisure. I never felt rushed or as if I had to race to see everything. Following the tour, I ate one of the most delicious cakes I ever had and enjoyed a capuccino while Szabolcs answered more of my questions. On the way back to Budapest, he very generously dropped me off at a different location due to my itinerary (his idea). It was just an amazing experience. I highly recommend this tour.
Erik was our guide, he was gave a little tour around the city and educate us about the culture! Sissi’s former residence was beautiful we learned so much about the royal family. We ate a delicious Hungarian desert suggested by our guide and tea!
Erik was awesome he came on time a help us guiding our tour! He gave us a little tour around the city and help us pick a traditional Hungarian desert which was very delicious! I really recommend it if you want to know about “Empress Elizabeth” and story behind the royal family enjoy!
A very interesting self guided tour of 1 of Sissy’s residences. It includes her and Franz’s reception, study and bedrooms.
We were picked up at our hotel in Budapest on time, but there was no narrative or dialog in English until we were dropped off at the Palace and handed a headset to find our way through. This was not what I would consider a "tour" - merely an overpriced transfer to/from Budapest.
Dear Pat, We are very sorry to read that you were disappointed with our tour. However, we hope it was better than a two-star experience and you also enjoyed the coffee and cake what was offered as well besides the transfer. Thank you for your feedback, we will strive to make improvements.
