My partner and I had a lovely time with Ali! He took us to the temples as listed, and also some FIRE food joints. He was certainly very knowledgeable about the region too. Perhaps we are biased by the tour we completed the day before, but this experience did not have that above and beyond feeling. The tour covered all items as specified, but lacked enthusiasm! For the price ( x 3 of aforementioned tour) we did not find it overly interesting or entertaining. A good idea if price is not a concern, otherwise may find it a little underwhelming!
Dear Madam, I hope this message finds you well. I wish to address a matter concerning your booking with us. You were initially scheduled to join our walk on the 17th of August, arranged at relatively short notice. Due to a reported stomach infection, you requested to postpone the tour to Monday, and it was eventually undertaken on Tuesday, the 19th of August. Despite the multiple changes, we were pleased to accommodate your revised plans without any additional charges. However, it was somewhat disappointing to later learn that the postponement may not have been solely due to health reasons but tours with others as mentioned by you in your review. Your review, received after an interval of two months, took us by surprise, particularly given the extent of our flexibility and goodwill extended throughout the process. Looking back, we recognize that adhering to our original cancellation policy might have been a more prudent course of action where we had the option on collecting the full fare from you wothout conducting the tour as you didnt take it up on the actual date of booking. Thank you for your business Adam.
We had some foreign colleagues and they wanted to know more about bengaluru. a breezy experience and my colleagues and me loved it
Dear Sir, Thank you for undertaking the tour with us. Look foward to see you on other tour soon. Regards, Adam.
Very pleasant tour with many intresting stops. True highlights are the breakfast and the various temples. In general walking somewhere in Bangalore can be challenging, but on this tour, the route is chosen such that you mostly walk on decent sidewalks or through parks.
Dear Guest, thank you for doing the tour with us. It was a pleasure to show you around town. Warm regards from Bengaluru. Adam.
Great way to explore the city that I’ve been born and raised in and still didn’t know so much about! Mansoor does a great job of covering hidden gems in the city, their local histories and connections that one usually misses out without bespoke tours like this. Thoroughly enjoyed my experience visiting the big bull temple that has been an iconic landmark of south Bengaluru.
Dear Saif, Thank you for your kind words & we hope to see you on another tour the next time you come back to Bangalore. Regards, M.Ali
The guide Ali is a wondetful story teller. He combines facts from history with factual anegdots , mytology and legends and mixes it all in a fantastic way. i decided to read entire Ramayana aftrt this walk. That is how inspuring it was.
Dear Guest, It was a pleasure to show you around town. We look forward to see you on another tour whenever you come back to Bangalore. Regards, Adam
I went we Ali Mansoor to several walks. He is knowledgeable, updated on ancient history and current status, and equipped with relevant articles or book on any relevant matter. I learned a lot and kept coming to the different tours. The breakfast location he chooses always turn good and he is making sure to educate the participants about the local foods.
Dear Orit, It was a pleasure to show you around town. We look forward to see you on another tour whenever you come back to Bangalore. Regards, Adam
Mr Mansoor & team from Bangalore by Foot is very friedly, prompt & knowledgeable. They organized Basavangudi walking tour for a group of 40,each and every member of the group enjoyed the tour very much. It was great to know history of Bangalore and he explains it very well with reference to the historical pictures. He also had arranged a snack time in Vidyarthi Bhavan, it was like icing on the cake. Best part of the tour. I would totally recommend Bangalore by Foot for walking tours.
Dear Pooja, It was a pleasure to show you around town. We look forward to see you on another tour whenever you come back to Bangalore. Regards, Adam
Pensioners' Paradise, State capital, IT hub, Start-up leader, Bengaluru is all that, but is just not that. While the collective myopia towards her past is buttressed by the fact that the city bears only a fraction of monuments vis-a-vis Delhi ( 50 versus 3500), Bengaluru is no apologist when it comes to her eventful history and glorious heritage. She has had her fair share of rulers and raiders, martyrs and traitors, builders and destroyers, and able and not so able administrators. They speak to us through their legacy strewn all around , and then there is Mansoor , a qualified architect, and a passionate narrator of the days gone by. He led me in the footsteps of Tipu Sultan, introducing Kempegowda, the Wodeyars and Hyder Ali along the way, importing and seamlessly weaving in the "French Connection" and Napoleon and George Washington into the narrative. Join him on this trail when you are in the city. As for myself, I have just taken the first footsteps. Thank you, Mansoor!
Dear Rajat, Thank you for your kind words. It means a lot to us. Keep walking with us & discovery Bangalore thru the centuries with us. Warm regards.
Mr. Mansoor Ali from Bangalore by Foot is a very knowledgeable and interesting guide who loves his city and knows a lot about Bangalore. Highly recommended tour during which you get to see really interesting places you could not find on your own.
Hi, So glad to hear you liked the tour. Thank you for the kind words too. Hope to see you in future on another tour. Warm regards, Adam
Our Family (Wife, Parents and I) had an opportunity to participate in a Heritage Walk with Bengaluru by Foot (Mr.Mansoor). The walk started with an interesting introduction about the history of Bengaluru City that featured Kempegowda Maharaj, British Era and more. We had the pleasure of visiting a Heritage Home in Basavangudi and also interacted with the family. We developed a lot of admiration for the family values of Mr. M.R. Narendra, after interacting with him. We were amazed by the wisdom and hard-work that had been put in building and maintaining this home. Mr.Mansoor did a wonderful job in explaining us all this in Hindi Language We also visited a very popular temple and a park in Basavanagudi. We were mesmerized by the stories associated with the temple and the walk in the park was very memorable. The day ended with sumptuous dosas at the very popular Vidhyarathi Bhavan. We also tried few chat items at Asha Sweets (though this was not part of the walk) Mr.Mansoor is very knowledgeable and ensured that this was a memorable experience for all of us.
Dear Nitin, Dear Simon, It was a pleasure to have you with us on our tour & thank you for the kind words. We are starting new walks in March & you are most welcome to join us on those. Warm regards, M.Ali
