This was probably the best experience I had in Tahoe! Water was very calm at the time we went (8AM). The water was so beautiful I will be doing this every time I come to Tahoe! very relaxing.

We were canceled the morning of the tour 1 hr before the event after driving over sn hr to get there. They said it was too rough to kayak. We went to the launch point on our way back inly to find other outfitters launching kayaks. It was a beautiful day and calm. I can only assume they had other reasons for canceling
Sorry to hear you were canceled. If the guide felt conditions were going to get worse then we go off what they feel is best for safety purposes. While it may look decent enough at the time, conditions change fast here and we take no chances with any wind either at the moment or coming in. Unfortunately, the call sometimes gets made last minute or even on the beach. We constantly watch for the wind. If there is a line in the distance we always go on the side of caution. Occasionally it may not hit but we prefer to not put people out if threatens. Unfortunately siding with safety can sometimes make it where we may be too conservative with the decision.
The water is indeed crystal clear! I would recommend booking the tour as early in the day as possible, as it gets hot and crowded later on. It’s a great activity, especially if you haven’t done anything like this before. They also provide some great pictures at the end of the tour free of charge!
Excellent kayaking tour with our guide, Rowan, who was deeply knowledgeable about the lake and its history and clearly cares about its preservation while also allowing visitors like ourselves to experience its tranquil beauty.

Horrible. Not worth it. Paid for 2 person kayak… they made us do separate or else we couldn’t go. They were extremely rude and unprofessional. We did not even complete the entire tour because others in our group were ill and had to go back. Don’t waste your money.
We switched your kayak due to it being close to a total with the weight limit. Also, you did book improperly which we could have corrected if we would have been notified earlier. Same day we can not make changes. We explained why we switched the kayaks to you also. As for other guests, that is outside of our control. We work with everyone on the tour and unfortunately someone was getting sick out there during this tour. For safety reasons, they needed to come back. Pricing is more on Viator also. Would you have booked directly, it wold have been substantially less. We are sorry to hear your experience was not like others whom have gone on tours with us and thank you for the feedback.
The shuttle drivers were friendly, kind and knowledgeable. The tour guide was also friendly and knowledgeable. Kept us all safe. This part of the lake was simply stunning. We enjoyed our experience very much. The clear kayaks did not add to our experience as there wasn’t much marine life to be seen. We could have been in a regular kayak and seen the minnows and rocks in the clear lake on our sides equally as much as we did in the clear kayaks. All ages had so much fun with this activity! Highly recommend. The photos are added bonus. Not close ups though. Give your tour guide your email address if you book through Viator otherwise you won’t get the photos link.

Our Bonsai Rock Clear Kayak Tour at Sand Harbor was absolutely gorgeous. The clear water, the sunny day, and a great tour guide. I love that the tour guide took care of the photos -- getting out at bonsai rock to capture snaps of each kayaker and the whole group. I never needed to take my phone out of the wet bag. I recommend booking the first tour of the morning to get the best weather on the lake, to beat the lines into Sand Harbor, and to leave the rest of your day free.
My 8-year-old daughter can be somewhat hesitant to try new (and 'adventurous') things, but tour guide Cole made her experience such a great one. She was delighted that she was able to contribute as a paddler during her first kayaking experience, and it did not hurt that the backdrop for that experience was the gorgeous Lake Tahoe. As an added bonus, we received some great photos from Cole almost immediately after she and my husband got back to the parking site. A+ highly recommend, especially for kids who want an outdoor adventure on the water.
