First understand this is a very difficult place to find. It seemed to be an easy walk from the ship but I walked for an hour and a half across three and a half miles and never found it. Sent a message to the owner and got no response. Asked two locals where I needed to go and each took me in different directions. I called Viator totally frustrated and they said I couldn’t get a refund because the tour owner could have guided me there. When there was a message it was in Italian and I had to get it translated. There was no phone number to call- only text outside of Viator. Have two more tours with Viator and they had better be easy. After that I will not use Viator again.
Dear Cindy, We are very sorry to hear that you had such a difficult time finding the location. We completely understand how frustrating this must have been, especially as you were really looking forward to the class. Unfortunately, the location and meeting point were correct and the class was held as scheduled. Since the difficulty was related to finding the location and getting there, rather than to a cancellation or an issue with the class itself, we are unfortunately unable to offer a refund. We are truly sorry that you were not able to join us, and we appreciate you taking the time to explain what happened. We hope you might have the opportunity to visit us again in the future, and we would be very happy to welcome you then. Thank you for your understanding
Fabulous experience with Gabriela. She is an amazing instructor and speaks English well which helped us. She has many certifications and really knows her stuff. Nothing as good as learning from a local how to make food.
One of my favorite experiences by far. Nona and Cesarine Anna are so friendly and showed us how to cook and cooked the pastas and dessert with us. We had so much fun, it’s so beautiful there. I can’t recommend this enough. Such a great experience! I would do this again!
Our host welcomed us into her home and has a passion for cooking. We had appetizers and made gnocchi, which were both delicious! I would definitely recommend this experience!
We had a fabulous morning with Donata cooking a 3 course meal. Donata was friendly, funny and welcoming to my family and I and a wonderful host. She welcomed us into her home with warmth. We learnt about traditional liguarian meals and food. We made traditional fried bread, gnocchi and tiramisu and ate it for lunch with a glass of Prosecco and an incredible view of the mountains Donata took the time to show us her vegetable patch and chicken coop It did feel like for of a cooking experience than a class, but in the end that didn't matter as we had a such a great time in the hills of La Spezia Worth noting that you may need to get a taxi to get to Donata's home however she was very helpful in booking us a taxi to get back to our accommodation in the city centre
fun, enjoyable, easy and ladies were great. food delicious. wonderful experience and lots of food to eat
We had a wonderful time taking the pasta and tiramisu class! It was fun, engaging, and very informative. The instructor, Anna, was knowledgeable and made the whole experience enjoyable and easy to follow. We learned some great techniques and, of course, got to enjoy some delicious pasta and tiramisu. Highly recommended!
Daniela was a perfect hostess. Everything we learned to make was delicious and we can't wait to make it again at home. She introduced us to a new dish called Sgabei, we made gnocchi and tiramisu. We would 100% recommend this experience and we would do it again with Daniela if we are ever back in the area. Don't hesitate - book this today!
This is the excursion you brag about to your friends. The one where you’re in the beautiful home of a local Italian family, learning their grandparents recipes, meeting their pets, sample fruit from their trees. The one where you ask yourself “why don’t we make gnocchi as a family every Sunday?” and reconnect with a calm way of life. Elisa was wonderful. Her home is exactly what you’d imagine. Her family was warm and welcoming. The conversation was diverse and rich, and the language barrier made it all the more fun and interesting. And of course, the food was incredible. If you are cruising, I recommend arranging transportation at the port. The taxi situation is a bit hectic.
The hostess was amazing! She was so hospitable and kind. The whole experience was just so awesome! Learning from an experienced Italian cook was the best! Thank you Daniella
