We enjoyed Buffalo trace but were very disappointed that the other 2 distilleries were chosen for us we didnt have any choice in the matter n then our driver spoke very very little English so we were not able to communicate with him at all I would give our tour a 5 on rating 1 out of 10
Driver was late had to walk to a different pick up location when we chose the spot where there a pickup on the website. We were late for 2 of tastings and tour. He did not talk to us or give any information on the area or why these distilleries. That was chosen for us . No food or offer stop's. Water was only given finally after last stop. This was a special event for us this was awful. I am requesting a full refund.
**Cause:** Your group changed the original itinerary and arrived late to the bus The evidence does not support your claim. 1. We sent you your itinerary in advance. It included **Woodford Reserve, Four Roses, and Buffalo Trace**, and you visited all three distilleries. 2. The driver arrived at your hotel about 10 minutes early. We have the driver's text messages and a photo confirming his arrival. He parked one block from the Aloft Hotel because a downtown event closed the street. Your group returned to the hotel to use the restroom, and we waited about 10 additional minutes before leaving. 3. Your group arrived late at Woodford Reserve and changed your reservation from **9:00 AM** to **11:00 AM**. We explained that this change would affect the rest of the itinerary, and you chose to continue. 4. Because of your schedule change, you arrived late at Four Roses. You missed the tour, and the distillery allowed you to join the tasting instead. 5. You visited Buffalo Trace as scheduled. You spent about three hours there, including time to eat at the restaurant. 6. After requesting a refund, you confirmed by text message that you visited all three distilleries and accepted responsibility for changing the itinerary. The evidence shows that we provided the scheduled transportation, you visited all three distilleries, and your own decisions changed the original itinerary. For these reasons, we cannot approve a full refund.
We were able to go to squeeze in five distilleries. Jori was our driver and she was phenomenal. Very knowledgeable and she kept us on schedule. We had awful weather but she was a great driver. She answered all our questions and took an interest in each of us to make sure we did not need anything. You will be lucky if you get her as your tour guide. At the last distillery we asked to leave a little early and she was happy to accommodate us.
We wish there had been time worked in for lunch. We were picked up at 9 am amd finished after 5 pm and never had lunch
We expected a full Viator experience. What we got was a driver who couldn’t drive well and just drove us around. The actual tours at the distilleries were great. We were instructed by their own in house specialists. The driver had poor communication skills, rode the fast lane while driving slow (caused multiple vehicles to honk horns, etc). She mad a wrong turn one time and we ended up on a one way street going wrong way. Driver didn’t keep us informed about any time lines. The lunch was a total cluster. She picked up some of our orders while others didn’t get picked up, causing us to double back to restaurant. We had time to sit down at a restaurant or at least outside on park benches, but she rushed us and we wolfed down our lunch in the packed van. Upon arrival, we would wait around for next tour. We know it was the Kentucky Derby weekend, but when Viator calls up players from the minor leagues, they should at least know how to deliver a win. If we had known this, we would have had a designated driver haul us around or gone with a different company. Really what did Viator do that we couldn’t???
Derby Week creates extreme traffic and very strict distillery schedules. We planned ahead so your group could order food online and the driver could pick it up to avoid delays. The restaurant delayed the order because of the high demand, and the driver returned to collect the remaining meals because the group placed 10 separate orders. Sitting down for lunch at a restaurant during Derby Week could put the itinerary at risk. Late arrivals lose reservations, and sold-out experiences do not allow rebooking. About the driving concerns, we reviewed the GPS and confirmed the driver followed the speed limits. The “wrong way” concern refers to the temporary traffic changes at the BT Distillery parking area during Derby Week, where staff changed traffic into two directions to reduce congestion. We will review the van cameras and your feedback internally and take corrective action if necessary to improve the experience.
The tour company messed up our reservation which affected our pick up. We were greeted at our pick up location by a man in an unmarked van. He upset himself as Jason, our driver. Viator had sent me a text earlier that day that our drivers name was Jason. He was disheveled and seemed disorganized. He didn’t confirm our names or tickets. When he realized that not everyone he was to pick up was going to fit in the van, we were dropped off back at our pick up point, because we weren’t “ on his list”. He told us to call Viator and left us wondering if we were still going on the tour. We texted and called the numbers provided, and some that I googled, and were finally told we would be picked up 1.5 hours after our original start time. Our new driver Barbara was friendly, and got us to our first and second distillery tours. We were eventually combined with another tour group and were able to complete the experience. We were supposed to get lunch, but that didn’t happen. I feel the cost was way to high for the overall experience.
Your original reservation operated as a shared public tour. Later, your group requested additional assistance to pick up Derby tickets at the Galt House around midday. That last-minute request required schedule and transportation changes during a very busy weekend. To help your group, we adjusted the itinerary and changed your first two distillery visits into a private arrangement so you could complete the additional stop and still attend your reservations. The price of the package did not include lunch. Even so, we added a stop at Capital Grille restaurant to give your group time for lunch during the tour. Barbara completed your distillery visits and helped your group continue the experience successfully.
Excellent bourbon trail tour experience! Our guide Jason was exceptional. Great communicator via text before the tour with itinerary and meeting instructions. Competent and efficient driver, and flexible with us with stops and timing. All Bourbon distillery visits were great and we were very pleased with the highlight experience at the Buffalo Trace.
Awesome time. James Beam was great and fun. Buffalo trace was kinda of boring. Jeptha Creek was nice great drinks
The tours were amazing. The driver went over in above his duty, take carrying our bags to dropping us off at the hotel.
Jason was great! Gave some history and highlights of the area and made sure we were all taken care of!
