Hard to find with poor signage. Not 2-3 hours as described, thank God as it was exceedingly hot. The value did not match the expense of the tour.
Thank you for your feedback! We’re sorry to hear that you had difficulty finding us and that the tour did not meet your expectations. Regarding the length of the tour, we would like to clarify that, in order to ensure the well-being of our animals, our tours are intentionally not overly long or intrusive. Minimizing stress and disturbance to the wildlife in our care is always our top priority, and this means keeping visits respectful and limited in duration, especially during hot weather conditions. As a non-profit wildlife rescue center, every tour we offer directly supports the upkeep of the sanctuary and helps us provide the highest level of care possible for the animals. Your visit contributes to their food, medical treatment, and rehabilitation. We truly value your support and hope that, despite the challenges you experienced, you were still able to appreciate the important work we do for wildlife conservation.
Very informative for the child and gives a lot of information about how the animals that they shelter came to be there. You get a glimpse into how the operation runs on volunteer efforts and a bit of the work behind it. I am glad we did it and that our money went to preserving the animals and their habitat. That being said, we didnt have a car, so we had to get a taxi, which charged us $40 ($10 more than quoted) because of the approximate 2 miles of dirt road that we went through. As most things in Costq Rica are expensive, it’s hard to criticize the price since it falls in line with it most quick tours. However, if you’re already feeling stressed with the funds, this may not be the tour for you. If you don’t mind donating to a good cause then it’s going to be great.
Very interesting. A bit expensive for what you get.
We visited the sanctuary to learn all about the amazing work they do to rescue, rehab and release native wildlife, as well as the amazing conservation advocacy and habitat protection work. Getting to see these gorgeous animals up close was a treat, but to know we were supporting their rescue and protection made it even better. The volunteers and staff were amazing! Our tour guide, Jolene, and the others we talked to after the tour were all friendly, informative and passionate, and inspired me to plan another visit to come back longer and volunteer. A visit is well worth the time and will make the rest of your vacation more meaningful.
Guide Jolene was excellent introducing us to the rescued animals and birds along with background information. Good work is being done here in a peaceful jungle setting. Luckily a healthy wild sloth and many capuchins came to visit as well.
Tour was wonderful! Guide (Francesca) was very friendly and knowledgeable. She was also very patient with our toddlers. We got to see a variety of animals being rehabilitated and learned lots
Thank. you Emma for showing us around the sanctuary. We saw so many animals and learned why they were there and why they needed care. We saw sloths close up which was great. It is a great organization!! We were so glad we added this to our trip. Thank you Emma for all you do and best of luck in your veterinary career!!
We stayed on the property and had an amazing time. We were there for eight days. The people were great. The admission fee was great. The animals were amazing. We saw animals on rehab, as well as plenty of quality animals that actually interact with the animals in rehab. We saw iguanas that were 3 feet long. It was an incredible experience.
Our guide Emma was friendly and knowledgeable. She shared stories about the sanctuary and each of the animals as we observed them. Capuchin monkeys, in the wild, were moving around the trees. They were so cute. We really enjoyed our time there. We hope others will visit this place.
We loved seeing all the animals and the guide was very nice, told us their stories and gave us a very pleasant time.
Muchas gracias por compartir su experiencia. Nos alegra mucho saber que disfrutaron ver a los animales y que el guía hizo la visita amena al compartir sus historias. Esperamos recibirlos nuevamente muy pronto.
