Kragga Kamma Game Park: Perfect morning tour within a short drive out of PE. The small park features plenty and diverse wildlife with high chance of close encounters. Carmella was so sweet and patient. Highly recommended.
If you have limited time in Port Elizabeth, South Africa then this is the tour for you. It involves a scenic coastal drive and a visit to the Game Park. This park has quite a lot of animals that you can see up close. On the day that we visited, the penned lions were not visible since it was very hot. Otherwise, you get a good viewing of wild animals as you drive through the park. It is a small park and has a toilet stop with a shop and Cafe. We arrived in the Port by ship and were picked up at the port gate. It can be confusing as to where is your ride.
From start to finish could not fault. Glendon our guide & Carus our driver were fantastic. Glendons knowledge about Port Elizabeth & surrounds were fantastic giving a great overview of everything. Seen all the Reserve animals except the lions were hiding. Would highly recomend this tour. Thank you also to Kyle.
We spent a wonderful day with our guide Clinton and our driver. We were traveling in a small group of 7 people. Clinton and our driver adjusted the route so that Kragga Kamma was largely empty in the afternoon and we could enjoy the ride and had a good view of the individual animals. It should be noted that the park is not very large and can be compared to the safari park in Germany. Combined with the previously preserved coastal tour and the associated stops (the Sardinia Bay beach was unique), it was an all-round successful excursion. The guides were caring, gave us time at the individual stops and responded to requests. Highly recommended from our point of view. Small note: the air-conditioned vehicle was meant to open windows (but did not disturb).
Excellent guide and driver. Varied trip with coast , lighthouse , penguin rehab centre and game park. Small group of 7 . Good day
Our guide was excellent, when he was guiding, but the tour didn’t seem well planned. First, we stopped just after entering the park in the morning, at a little gift store and cafe, and stayed for a 1/2 hour coffee break before actually beginning the tour. Later, after exiting the game reserve, we stopped at a restaurant for lunch, and it took nearly an hour before we were served, and we were there nearly two hours. By that time, we had to return to our ship, so between coffee time and lunch, we missed the whole of our scenic coastline and lighthouse tour. It was truly baffling! Book the half day tour. The full day was a waste of time and money.
Good small group experience. Good opportunity to see animals up close. Bumpy ride, so be prepared. Guide very knowledgeable. Disappointed that our guide (Glendon), who was excellent appeared to be training a guide in another vehicle and while our group of 6 did not need a rest stop, we had to wait 15 minutes while the other group of 8 did stop. Then, as we left the Reserve, the other van did not turn in the correct direction, so we stopped and waited 10 minutes while he tried to locate him.
Good Day William Many thanks for the review. We are pleased that you enjoyed your experience. We are in the process of expanding our team and thus requires our experienced tour guides to ensure that the new comers are up to standard. We do apologize that it slightly impeded on your tour. We can guarantee that this will not happen in the future. Once again thank you for your review. We highly appreciate it
In spite of the delay our ship, they adjusted start time and kindly waited us. The tour was enjoyable, the driver explaind about the city and broungt us to the beautiful beach and park. Thank you.
We totally enjoyed our time with Kyle. He made the coastline come alive. The private game reserve was amazing. We wanted to see a bit about Port Elizabeth when we were returning to the ship. He gave us the time to understand Port Elizabeth. The day definitely exceeded expectations.
Our guide Kyle was excellent, he was very knowledgeable and made each stop very interesting. We did not feel rushed at any time. We experienced climbing a lighthouse built in the 17 th century and the views were amazing. We have wonderful photos taken on the safari. Excellent excursion.
