Never get carried away by misleading information from TripAdvisor. Got a message that the travel agency would come with a time and place. Missed it and got a further email about time and place. I thought in my stupidity that last template debtor.
The tour guide was totally nice The minibus just too tight The crowning glory, however, was... I made sure the leadership spoke German. We got into an English group. The trip was kind of for the cat. None of us understood anything
We booked for Saturday. The night before they emailed us to say we could only do the trip on Tuesday. We couldn’t, and asked for a refund. We still have not gotten a refund .
We spent about an hour in Knossos and 2.5 hours in Heraklion. Trip all the way from Chania not worth it.
Palace at Knossos was amazing - and the explanations from the tour guide were so helpful. The museum is also really well laid out .
The tour duration was sold as 10 hours including travelling time but actually it was just over 9 hours. It was rushed! Moreover we found the whole experience rather disappointing. The Guide gave a good talk both in English and German on the history of Crete from the Neolithic to the struggles against the Ottomans in the nineteenth century and unification with Greece early in the 1900s. All good but somewhat revisionist as it removed any mention of Crete's stoicism and heroism during the twentieth century Fascist occupation. Similarly at the Heraklion Archaeological Museum she expertly explained the key objects in both languages. However by the time we reached Knossos, the tour was mainly in German reflecting the majority on the tour with only a sentence or two in English. Moreover we were rushed at Knossos and given little time to wander around independently. It was quite obvious that they restricted the time allowed as one poor couple being just one minute late were almost left behind. The bus drove off leaving the customers to run and flag down the driver! In hindsight I would recommend foregoing this tour and independently travelling by local bus. All explanations at the Museum and the archaeological site are printed in English.
Visited the Palace in Knossos 42 years ago. The Klados firms tour is an improvement! To start with the Archeological Museum in Heraklion is a necessary introduction to the Palace of of Knossos and its remains. You can learn a lot from books but too see artefacts from the palace with informative posters in English give you the right feeling and understanding when you see the remains in Knossos. Some birds in Knossos added to the impression of a Palace. It was Ravens and Peacocks. The stop in Heraklion was fine to find a place for lunch and stroll along a street with many shops.
A very interesting place. What I did not like was the part reconstructed by the archaeologist, but it was what was done at the end of the 19th century. Anyway, it makes you think of the genius of those civilizations.
We are divided between how beautiful and moving it is to be on this site and the disappointment of this renovation with concrete... It is good to have a life to be able to ignore this particular renovation.

Enjoyed the tour and the very interesting information given by the guide. The museum in Heraklion was fascinating and the city itself deserved a slightly longer visit as did Knossos but it was a full day. A very good tour to learn more about the history of Crete.
