Taleju Bhawani é uma das deusas mais poderosas e também é considerada a deusa do clã dos reis de Malla que governou o Nepal entre os séculos 12 e 18, por causa da qual o templo da deusa está presente em três grandes cidades, Katmandu, Bhaktapur e Patan. A deusa tem quatro cabeças e dez braços e os três templos têm as estátuas de ouro e metal que representam a deusa. Os templos acomodam os santuários das deusas Taleju Bhawani e Deusa Viva Kumari.

Templo de Pashupatinath Pashupatinath é um dos santuários hindus mais sagrados do mundo e fica a 5 km a leste do centro da cidade. O pagode ricamente ornamentado abriga o sagrado Linga, ou símbolo fálico, do Senhor Shiva. Crônicas indicam a existência do templo antes de 400 dC. Os devotos podem ser vistos mergulhando rituais no sagrado rio Bagmati que flui ao lado do templo.
Este lugar está em constante ação, me lembra muito a Índia, mas com mais reverência e menos hype. As taxas de entrada para Pashupatinath funcionam aqui.
Boudhanath Mais tarde, visite Boudhanath, a estupa budista de 2500 anos de idade no vale construída no século V com quatro pares de olhos do Senhor Buda em quatro direções cardeais, mantendo uma vigilância eterna sobre as pessoas e suas ações. Unfortunately I did not record the names of the places we visited but the first two sites were really interesting with great architecture. The apparition of the Kumari at Her window for a few seconds was kind of odd but I guess an interesting part of Nepalese religious culture. We were less impressed by the white giant stupa. The visit of the crematorium was morbid but once again showing a part of Nepalese culture.
Excellent guide providing history of each site visited and meaning behind monuments. Would. Recommend the tour has a excellent starter to your experience in Kathmandu

We booked a 1 1/2 day tour at Himalayan Recreation - on the first day we got to know Kathmandu (Swayambhunath / Monkey Temple, Durbar Square, Pashupatinath Temple and Bouddhanath Stupa). Our guide Angel as well as our driver led us through the hectic hustle and bustle of Kathmandu, which was often too much for us. On the second day we went to Nagarkot and Bhaktapur. And last but not least, we cooked together with the staff of Himalayan Recreation because we wanted to get to know Nepalese cuisine. Although we didn’t like the hustle and bustle, traffic and dirt in Kathmandu, Himalayan Recreation gave us an unadorned and memorable picture of Kathmandu.
I was very pleased with this tour and with my guide, Krishna A. He was very kind and patient, giving lots of good details about each site we visited. He took his time to make sure we were not rushed through the tour. Would definitely recommend to other first-time visitors to Kathmandu.
We had a great tour with Sudipa, a very friendly and well informed female guide. She has a good knowledge and answered all our questions. After all there’s so much to see and she taughed us also a lot about culture and the life in Kathmandu and Nepal. When we got tired she changed the tour a little so we were able to see everything, she’s very caring. We enjoyed our day very much and would definitely recommend this tour.
