Embora hoje seja um destino popular para viajantes de todo o mundo, a área está profundamente ligada à história trágica da Ferrovia da Birmânia, também conhecida como a Ferrovia da Morte, construída durante a Segunda Guerra Mundial em condições extremamente duras por prisioneiros de guerra e trabalhadores forçados. Este passeio de dia inteiro oferece uma combinação memorável de história e natureza com visitas ao Museu de Guerra JEATH e à famosa ponte no rio Kwai, um marco histórico que atravessa o rio Kwai Yai. Em seguida, você continuará até o belo Parque Nacional Erawan, onde sete níveis de cachoeiras esmeralda-verdes se encaixam através da floresta tropical exuberante. Aqui você terá tempo para relaxar, explorar as trilhas de caminhada ou até mesmo fazer uma natação refrescante nas piscinas naturais, tornando-o um equilíbrio perfeito entre história, cultura e natureza.

O JEATH War Museum é dedicado à história dos homens que trabalharam na Ferrovia da Morte. A sigla JEATH representa as diferentes nacionalidades dos prisioneiros de guerra que trabalharam na construção da ferrovia entre 1942 e 1943: Japão, Inglaterra, América, Austrália, Tailândia e Holanda (Holanda). O museu exibe os itens reais que foram usados para a construção da Ferrovia da Morte e exibe um grande número de fotografias tiradas por prisioneiros da época. Uma das três galerias com fotos está alojada em uma cabana de bambu que é uma réplica exata dos abrigos em que os prisioneiros de guerra (prisioneiros de guerra) viveram durante esse tempo. Tinha 415 quilômetros de extensão e passava pelo Passo dos Três Pagodes no distrito de Sangkhlaburi, a parte mais ao norte da província de Kanchanaburi. O Exército Imperial Japonês trouxe a ponte de ferro de Java durante a ocupação japonesa da Tailândia na Segunda Guerra Mundial. Foi então assemelhado aos Prisioneiros de Guerra Aliados (POW) sob supervisão japonesa. Visitar a Ponte do Rio Kwai e o Cemitério de Guerra de Kanchanaburi encoraja a contemplar o tratamento intolerável a que prisioneiros de guerra aliados, tailandeses, birmaneses e malaios foram submetidos pelo Exército Imperial Japonês durante a construção da notória Ferrovia da Birmânia, mais conhecida como Ferrovia da Morte. A obra da ferrovia foi concluída em 16 meses, apesar dos cálculos dos engenheiros japoneses de que a construção levaria pelo menos 5 anos!
Fundado em 1975 como o 12º Parque Nacional da Tailândia, o Parque Nacional Erawan abriga uma das cachoeiras mais populares do país. A principal atração do parque são as Cataratas Erawan de 7 níveis com lagoas verde-esmeralda. A queda tem o nome do elefante de três cabeças da mitologia hindu, pois a catarata superior se assemelha a ela. Aqui você tem tempo suficiente para um mergulho refrescante bem no meio da selva ou até mesmo caminhar até o nível superior das cachoeiras (se o tempo permitir). - Nossos passeios operam chuva ou brilho, como chuva tropical na Tailândia geralmente não duram muito tempo. Se chover muito, tentaremos buscar abrigo e continuaremos assim que o tempo melhorar. Once again Mr kraising didn't disappoint us.. We planned a couple trip to Kanchanaburi from Bangkok. The ride was long, but going up to the waterfall, having a natural fish spa at level 3 was amazing. The death railway train ride was enjoyable but it felt a bit dark with memories of the place. We thoroughly went through dinner at keeree mantra restaurant, sampling Thai authentic dishes. We recommend this guy.. @letmedrivethailand on Facebook.. This was our second time booking him for Thailand trips.

The tour to the was a great experience, the museum, The Bridge On The River Kwai and Eraean Waterfalls. Both our tour operator and driver were friendly and courteous. Lunch at Erawan Waterfalls restaurant was delicious. I highly recommend on going this tour with this company ❤️🙏

Tour Guide Na was very accommodating, she was professional yet friendly at the same time. She was approachable and has good personality. The driver was also a good driver. We caught a grab to the travel office in Chinatown,we got there we got invited in inside,nice aircon,then our driver turned up,I forgot his name ,then we started our drive to bridge over river Kwai and erawan falls,it took us nearly 2.5 hrs to get there,we met our guide Na she was very good indeed, explained everything about the railway and the museum,the prisoners of wars ,were treated terrible by the Japanese soldiers,if you didn't work you were punished,then we caught a boat down the river to the bridge,that was excited,then walked over the bridge,the railway so to take 3 years,but they were made to it in 18 months,100,000 soldiers died,then we left there and went to the erawan falls in the national park,,which were 1 hr away,we got there Na walked with us to waterfall 2 ,my wife went by the waterfall and we took photos,then Na left us and we walked up to waterfall 5,that was hard work,but I did it,it made me proud at 54 yrs old,I beat some of the young people.then we walked back down,my wife got dressed put the life jacket back,then we got the buggy back to the entrance,I would say have lunch before you go to the falls. I enjoyed it so much.defintely recommend it.
