Inside a beautiful forest, great food, relaxing music and sound of a waterfall. Service is prompt. Glad I did it!
Leave more than time if you’re traveling with a large party if you like to include panning for gold and walk to the waterfall. Went towards the end of August and you can see salmon swimming upstream to spawn.
it was a short bus ride from The Port to the salmon bake. And the bus driver was very informative about things we passed on the way. It’s very organized getting your food and soup and drinks and plenty of open seating. We had a very overcast day pleasant weather. I like sitting by the babbling creek and watching the salmon try and swim upstream however it is very, very shallow, and there were many dead salmon in the water that was sad, and while there were no eagles, there was certainly a lot of seagulls which I thought was odd as they did not seem interested in the salmon but fighting each other and just walking in the water.
Mia and Claire were a great team...very knowledgeable, informative and entertaining. They made sure we got the most out of our two hour trip. We saw bubble netting and deep dive feeding as well as seals. Great experience!
The atmosphere is amazing. The folks working the tables cleaning up were on it. Even saw Salmon swimming up the steam right there. Now we found the food to be just ok. The cornbread and blueberry cake were both very dry. The potatoes needed seasoning and were very bland. Now here’s the really strange part - the lady working the grill kept giving the men light pink salmon (it almost looked like it was farm raised) while the ladies got the really red looking salmon. Both me and my sister went back for second filets and she did exactly the same thing. I found it very odd. In addition the salmon that I was served was full of bones. Now, the Salmon wasn’t terrible - but I’ve certainly had better back home. I would have expected something amazing from a place like this. Anyhow, like I said the atmosphere is amazing but the food is meh. Would I go again, probably not.
Great grilled Salmon. All you can eat. Relaxed atmosphere. Beautiful outside arrangement under tents and next to Salmon running stream with a beautiful waterfall on the property.
Great food, great entertainment. Very relaxed atmosphere. Plenty of places to sit and eat. Beautiful views of the area. Saw a baby Eagle up close eating salmon. Staff kept tables clean.
Me and my family had a wonderful time at this salmon bake. It was set up so beautifully and the salmon was delicious! They also have a beautiful waterfall for you to visit. We saw two bald eagles while we were there! I highly recommend this excursion!!
Do not miss this when you come to Juneau!!! Eflinda is the best salmon griller ever!!!! We would do this every time!!!!
The staff A++ , from the drivers to anyone we spoke to in the area was amazing, very knowledgeable and friendly. Beautiful scenery, fun little trail to try your hand at gold panning, waterfall, etc. However the main reason we booked this excursion was to eat some delicious Alaskan Salmon. We were extremely disappointing to say the least. The salmon was bland, our first time through the line it was also undercooked. By bland I mean zero flavor. Very sad because we would have gone to a nice restaurant for cheaper and better quality but we thought this would be a fun experience. If you are going to call yourselves a salmon bake, I would think your salmon needs to be top notch. The corn bread and ribs were pretty good, but I wanted the Alaskan Salmon flavor. I would say save your money, eat in town.
