Jodhpur Heritage Walk

The heritage walk with Prabhat gave us a great personalized insight into the history and the present day life of the old city.

We did the Jodhpur Heritage Walk with Pranhat, and it was one of the best things we did in Rajasthan. He really knows the old city inside out — from the blue-painted houses to the temples and narrow lanes where daily life happens. What I liked most was how relaxed it felt. It never felt rushed, and he had stories about almost every corner we passed. We stopped to try a few local snacks and later had a great meal at Rani Mahal Heritage Hotel, which was a lovely surprise. You can tell Pranhat genuinely loves Jodhpur and wants visitors to see more than just the usual tourist spots. We came away with a much better feel for the city and its people. Would absolutely recommend this walk — especially if you want to see the real Jodhpur with someone who truly cares about it.

Exploring Jodhpur with Prabhat was a fantastic experience. I recently went on a heritage walk through the heart of Old Jodhpur, and it was truly one of the most enriching experiences of my trip. The charm of the blue city came alive with every turn—narrow lanes, vibrant walls, ancient havelis, and a living history that whispers from every corner. What made the experience even more special was our incredible guide. He wasn’t just knowledgeable—he was warm, engaging, and went out of his way to make the walk memorable. The stories he shared weren’t just dates and facts; they were tales filled with life, culture, and the soul of Jodhpur. From royal legends to everyday traditions, he connected us deeply to the city’s past and present. Old Jodhpur itself is magical—bustling yet timeless. I fell in love with its character, colors, and the sense of heritage that lingers in the air. I highly recommend this heritage walk to anyone visiting the city. It’s the best way to truly feel Jodhpur.

My husband and I spent a day in Jodhpur with Prabhat Singh as a guide to visit the beauties of the city. She is a Guide with excellent preparation on all fronts, cultured, brilliant, likeable and and with excellent knowledge of all corners of the city. Prabhat is a wonderful tour guide. It made all the difference being led by Prabhat as there are so many little gems to see around the lanes and backstreets of The Old City of Jodhpur. As someone who grew up in the area and is currently doing an MA in Indian ancient history, his knowledge is excellent. Most importantly, his passion for the area comes across strongly and he is a great communicator. He will adapt the tour depending on what your needs are and whether you are with children or not. Highlights include walking around the backstreets and meeting local people, the fort, the step well, drinking coconut juice from coconuts. Finally, Prabhat helped us with getting transport back to our accommodation. A must-do!

We did two tours in Jodhpur with Sabiya. Our first tour was the walking tour of Jodhpur and Sabiya showed us many interesting places (and good photo shooting places) around the city. Being from Jodhpur, she was also very good at answering our questions about local and Indian life and culture. The second tour was Jaswant Thada and Mehrangarh Fort (Umaid Bhawan Palace was closed so couldn't visit it). Again we learnt a lot from Sabiya. Also her restaurant recommendations were excellent. We warmly recommend Sabiya, the only female guide in Jodhpur, if you want to enjoy your time in and understand Jodhpur better.

Prabhat was an amazing guide, and d Jodhpur is an amazing place! We are so grateful that we had such an interesting, knowledgeable guide to such a fascinating, hard to navigate place.

A great way to spend a first afternoon in the city, and get a feel and context of its history and culture. Rishi Jodha is an excellent guide who speaks fluent English and is able to explain the nuances of his city well. The easy walk lasted over three hours and included ghanta ghar, the surrounding market, blue city, historical waterbodies, fort outskirts, and old community residences and shops with their historical architecture. Rishi gave very useful suggestions on local eateries and shops. Excellent and memorable introduction to Jodhpur.
